The issue with lobbies

Hello everyone. We are aware of the issue where people cannot join/see lobbies or getting a "version mismatch" error. The issue is being looked into, and will be solved ASAP. Thank you!

So, two days ago, me and two buddys try to play Demon, and my buddys did not had any problem with the lobbies (their download region is US- San Diego, and US - Denver)
My download region is Hungary, and when i first tried to play the game, i did not see any lobbies at all.
Then i did the play one game, leave, restart Steam thing
After that i could see exactly ONE lobbie room (with ??? and some japanese letters as room name)
My buddys made a room and sent me the code, but could not enter it (i got an error message)
After that i restarted Steam again - it still not working
After that i reboot my entire PC . after that it WORKED
We played for more than 2 hours without any problems.
After that every now and then i just boot up Demon to check the lobbies to still work or not - it is still working since, and i see 12-15 pages of rooms.

Thats all the feedback i can give, maybe it helps a bit.

It will be fixed when they fix it. They cannot update you saying "it will be fixed on X day" if they are not sure exactly which day it will be fixed...

That said they have been trying to fix it, pushing updates hoping to fix it when discovering it did nothing. The problem is very weird as it can be resolved using workarounds as strange as restarting steam, changing steam download region etc, it is kinda hard for them to pin-point the issue exactly but rest assured they are working on a fix.

Asking players that have been affected by the Lobby issue, if you are willing to try switching back to your proper Region, re-logging, and then testing to see if lobbies list proper for you. If you have never changed regions, and are still having issues,
in Steam / Settings / Downloads - change the download region to another region and save. This will cause Steam to reboot. Once done, go back in and set the region to your correct region, again it will shut down steam. Log back in and try.

i fixed this by uninstalling steam and reinstalling it! everything else people suggested wasn't working (this may work for some people but none of the solutions are guaranteed to work for everyone unfortunately).

The 0.5.0 Update didn't break anything, the devs broke their Match Making / Lobby Server, just like they broke the in-game Voice Chat Server a couple of weeks a go, that is why we are having the issues now.

When I have issues with the lobby (where it shows 0 pages or the odd couple of lobbies) I change steam download server regions and validate the game files, then change download servers until I see above 10 pages of lobbies and then finally try my local steam download region where I still hopefully see the same amount of pages with lobbies.

I know that is a pain to do, but I love this game.

But once again its not a Game Client issue, its a Server Side issue linked to their in game Lobby Filter System they added.

Same here, but what I did do is keep changing Steam Download Server Regions until it works.

Like I have said before a few time now its not a Game Client Side issue, but a Server Side one, so in a way anything we are all doing does nothing, sure we may get it working, but that never lasts.

TBH the developers SHOULD stop adding content until they have fixed all the reported known bugs, then wait a month just in case a few new turn up, then and only then they should add more content, then go back to fixing bugs and so on.
This is why this along with other games will always break due to they are doing it all wrong.

This is not having a pop at the developers, I really love their game.

This is not a server side issue at all, since the game uses steamworks, and steamworks servers are working perfectly fine.

This is an error on their side, not Steam, else we wouldn't be able to play any other games.

Not to mention it was indeed update 0.5.0 that broke lobbies, since was working perfectly fine until then.

I understand you trying to help, but you not helping by spreading misinformation over the poor knowledge you have of the subject.

Sure they can't give us a it will be fixed at exactly x time however they should be able to provide updates such as "we found issues with x we tried y to fix it but the issue persisted". Keeping everyone in the dark does nothing but increases frustration, from our perspective they could be doing nothing about it right now and have several other things on their agenda ahead of this regardless of the initial post saying it's high priority. If you don't see how this is a problem you obviously have never been in a customer facing role before.

Unfortunately they may be waiting for the minor patch for release to update this issue. they did mention in the 0.5.0 notes that there would be another patch to address performance issues coming soon. sucks that a huge part of the enjoyment of the game is put on hold until then. here's to hoping it is resolved sooner rather than later. I'll trade performance for hearing my friends scream in terror lol
