player should also start with a flashlight, what's the actual point of throwing me ito a pitch black house where each light breaks upon being turned on. wait nvm the pvc water pipe that looks nothing like a flashlight is actually one, but the game doesn't integrate new players. instead it says, figure it out, or don't
The game does a horrible job presenting and explaining itself. Bout to refund in a minute and just buy it later when the game is actually good.
Common sense should tell you that there would be no need for a pvc water pipe in this game.
None of these ghost identification games really give you a tutorial.
You do realize that there is an Introduction and Guide in your tablet for this game, right? Everything is explained to you, if you just read the information that the devs have provided you, and that has been a thing since this game released, so it isn't new. Do they give you a visual tutorial map? No. But that isn't necessary if you just look at what is given to you. This necessity for people to have their hands held through everything is downright sad.
A fair amount of the delay was likely due to the transition from UE4 to UE5, and they are working on fixing the voice, but programming and fixing issues isn't something that happens overnight, especially if the causes are unknown and have to be tested for. That is why they disabled voice completely this weekend, put out a patch today, enabled voice chat only to ensure that it isn't causing issues, and they will proceed from there. It's called iterative testing, and it takes time. I have done software testing, and know some fundamentals about coding, and a simple issue can be a bear to find, and until it is fixed, many other things are also affected. The game is playable, just not at maximum potential right now until the issue with voice is resolved. The Spirit Box will still react if you are holding it up as if talking into it. Verified this myself just last night. Is it in the best state right now? No. But things take time, and screaming at the devs isn't going to get anything done any faster.
