Can't use my name either. I'm thinking about refunding this. I'm tired of censorship.

One letter away from racism is still racism.
Kudos to the devs for being on top of things.

It is a literal name, and definitely not a "one letter away." Not everything is racism.

The name "Nigel" is becoming extinct. For obvious reasons.

Yea, but the name itself has roots in racism. Which is why not many people are born and given that name anymore.

One letter away from what....? The name of a Country? Certainly not a racial slur.

so people who are named Nigel should have to change their name because it's too close to the N word?

that is a really stupid justification for censoring the name Nigel, it's not the N word, it is not slang for the N word, the only thing that is remotely close is the fact that it is two letters off from being the N word.

That is not a good reason for censoring it, as no one is going to look at someone naming their character Nigel and think "Oh they named their character the N-word" ban the actual words you want censored don't arbitrarily ban any names that contain part of the censored words in them

it is the Latin Word for Niger which means "dark", however in British context the name Derives from Celtic Origins meaning "Champion".

I would make a solid assumption the people naming their children Nigel in Victorian England were going off the Celtic origins.
Nigel has never been as common in other countries as it is in Britain, but was among the 1,000 most common names for boys born in the United States from 1971 to 2010. Numbers peaked in 1994 when 447 were recorded (it was the 478th most common boys' name that year).[2] The peak popularity at 0.02% of boys' names in 1994 compares to a peak popularity in England and Wales of about 1.2% in 1963, 60 times higher.

I see in the name no problem

Nope -it stems from the Gaelic name 'Niall', which means 'champion'.
