Does the game really not have an offline mode?
It doesn't make any sense for this game to be online only if even the Steam page says single player, are you fooling us? I hate playing these survival games forced online, Palworld itself and Enshrounded can be played solo, I foresee this game full of hackers and screwing up the lives of those who just want to have fun

Last I checked it's online only on their servers, so ya Palworld it is until we can get our own servers.

It's just that it doesn't make sense not to have it offline since the Steam page says single player

I'm the guy that loves having the freedom to play on my own or my own servers or with friends online. Ask the Devs, I would guess they probably want microtransactions which whatever on that I won't buy those anyway but there is no option yet. It looks to me as if the devs are in wait and see mode on wether they want to add private server/offline mode.

Thanks for sharing and clearing this up. Saves me a trip to the attic to consult my crystal ball.

Is there really a need for another one of these... are you all from the same reddit page or some place?

The came is a Solo Co-op game built around a server. They are willing to look at the possibility of a offline mode but given that you Can not encounter other players unless you choose to there is no issue with hackers and griefers.

The question is, is Nightingale going to use server for saves ore local saves?

Yes yes... I'm sure you want to back up your worlds or what have you... I did the same thing in Conan Exiles... ask me if I can play any of the ones I made in 2020 today? I can't... It is all online now.

Right now this is how the game works.

You make your character.
You are then placed into a realm. That realm is persistent. All the realms your visit are persistent. As the game was built for Co-op Play. The idea is that you would make friends on discord or have RL friends or eventually open your realm to be publicly accessible. And you will have a hub Realm and then run of and adventure together or solo. So the Realm is always there for everyone that has access to it.

Because of that Realms are stored and active even when you aren't there (to an extent) but only accessible to the people you have invited (as no one can see public realms at launch as I understand it)

The game was built this way and clearly based on their response the resources to pivot to add a "offline" single player option is very high.

I think most people don't understand that the game is not using a traditional server with 40 people on it. The game is solo unless you choose otherwise. But it wants you to invite people in and be social.

During EA they are keeping the servers "official" and they have not officially committed to do more than look into Offline options. Which at the moment is all they can do.

You can play singleplayer but there is a permanent internet connection needed, you find it under system riquirements (yes there hide it well)
You can play Singleplayer as long as you don't create an open realm or invite any player to your realm, but you play always on there servers with all pros and cons, so there is no offline mode.

Yes we need another one of these - because it is the only way to show the devs we are many who want an offline mode and / or the option to host private servers.

cause the stability of their servers are not proofen, if they decide to shut down the servers the game is gone (with an offline mode and the option to host private server the latest game version can still be played even if this happen)
and we are total depending on their server stability and capacity, if there will be any problem we can you wit and hope.
