Report a translation problem
The puzzle can be 100% bypassed. Just go to the back, peek through the gap and break the sorrow seal. Done. No platforming or emote wheel needed.
Depending which altar you are at there maybe 3 statues.
If its the Salute the highest statue, there is definitely 3, and to salute it you have to go up to the corner of the platform slightly to the side of the statue at about face level and then salute it. If you salute it at the base of the statue it does nothing.
To be fair, the game does pop up a 'How to play' when you reach the first of these shrines. which does explain all that.
