Puck is evil?
"In Medieval English folklore, Puck is an evil fairy or demon, probably derived from Pouke, which in Old and Middle English would seem to mean a devil, demon, or evil spirit. It is an ancient word, found both in Germanic and in Celtic languages."

Did you not notice?

He literally hands you blood-stained cards in the first realm of the tutorial, and by the third act is requiring you to kill things so he can tell you that you're a murderer.

Puck is a fae; their morals/standards are not quite human, and good/evil is not particularly a concept for them. They understand it enough to know it motivates YOU. Never trust a fae.

There is a point in the story where he makes it plain that you and he shared a common goal and so he was happy to let you do the dirty work for him, while becoming indebted to him for the help he has offered you. The story is not done ... but its never a good thing to be indebted to a fae.

Well, duh. He's not exactly being subtle about it either.

Yes, but I got a feeling this Puck is based more off of Shakespear than actual folklore

Fae in the old stories are just straight up alien.

They're neither "good" nor "evil". That's human morality. Humans trying to hammer square pegs into round holes. Whatever the fae do makes sense to them, maybe not to us. They have a weird sense of honor, and always seem to be playing by some sort of rules. They just don't bother to explain those rules to the humans.

In this game, puck specifically needs an "inside person". He wants a human that owes him something, being at the watch as a potential pipeline of information. I'd assume he was probably helping more then just our main character, kind of hedging his bets. Our character may have been the only one that survived to reach the watch.

Puck is "Summer Court" which is pretty nice, well unlikely to kill violently at least. But he's also unselie so the dark side of summer. It's not evil, but it's not good either, kind of like how humans aren't usually easily reducable to hat color.

The winter court is much badder news.

Puck wasn't just dangling a carrot for no reason. ;D

If you were Irish you would understand that all faeries are amoral at best. Their job is to give humans choices they can't resist with consequences they/we don't pay attention to until too late. Their deepest desire is to obtain our souls as they cherish them above all else. Faeries are by their nature soulless beings. These are morality tales, probably wasted in our current times where no one accepts the fact that consequences should be accepted but screamed at till they go away. lol

This game is a delight for anyone who plays, or played, the TTRPG, Changeling: The Dreaming.

Not sure how one can be summer court...and unseelie. Isn't summer court tied to seelie ends?

I'm at Welkin's Reach stage at this point. Not sure what Puck's ultimate goal is, but It seems obvious that Puck is not helping out of compassion, kindness, or simple generosity. Just have to play the game and see how the story unfolds and learn what Puck is up to.
