I've been using Jana mats. Farm the swamp portal in the watch. fast easy. save ur T3 essence to buy the outfits at the watch and keep farming.

When it comes to cloth & fabric, you actually have two choices. Plants harvested or _meat_. Yes, meat.

You go to a tanning bench, and process meat into animal fiber (basically sinew). Then from the animal fiber you either make thread (for cloth), or refined fiber (for fabric).

Fabric is farrrrrr more time consuming. You need 6 animal fiber to make 1 refined fiber. 2 refined fiber to make 1 unit of fabric.
So, 24 meat = 12 animal fiber = 2 refined fiber = 1 fabric.

For cloth, only 2 animal fiber are required to make 1 thread unit, then 2 thread to make cloth. The same 24 meat would make 12 animal fiber, then 6 thread, then 3 cloth.

Jana meat has some of the better stats (mostly 30%). As valeck said above, do the swamp vault (far right side portal at watch), on the easy mode in a group. Don't worry about killing the boss. He doesn't drop anything. All loot is in a chest at the end loot room. You'll get jana hide, meat, and bone, and some synchronus lotus.

Humbabe (swamp hunt realm boss) has nearly identical stats as jana, but several are less then 30. It would take WAY longer to farm humbaba in any real fashion... you'd spend a lot of time looking for the boss, if it's even spawned.

But I've been making a lot of clothes out of tier 3 predator meat, because of 2 things.

1. It's dark slate grey in color (jana is offwhite, humbaba is nearly identical)
2. If you have a simple drinking horn near the sewing bench, you can get a "pack leader" buff on anything made primarily from predator materials. It even applies to cloth made from the meat. That buff permanently adds 3 separate bonuses to the item. Health regen+, max stamina+, and stealth+. Not every item can qualify for that buff. The item has to have the stats already for the buff to add to them.

its all depends of your priorities and the cloth piece.
Jana meat/hide for hp,
faibled harpy T3 for movement speed,
beezboar for meele damage,
karnute T3 for magic,
forest fibre for weight limit.
No fibre/hide for range damage.

For metals there is the
sun giant for magic and stamina
also titan's fingernale for magic and extra crit damage
einaidia for ranged damage,
pellucidic for meele,
no good ingot for hp

fabled knight automatons T1 is also useable, but for me they are only medi good and in most cases i used the ingots for the gs piece, so i hadn´t to look at the hide/fibre gs side

Gearscore really doesn't matter and in most cases the metal pieces of clothing don't contribute to it anyway.

T3 fabled leather and fiber would be the way. pellucidic ingots for strength and melee
