trying to figure out farming

working on setting up food stuff for my group and we have ran into a problem of a bunch of seeds not seeming to work one of the bigger one is carrots, I have setup a full farm that should (from the videos) grow everything but stuff is still not growing anyone know why? cant find a augment or anything that says it grows X plant

Many seeds have been broken since the start. A patch said they fixed it but at best it fixed some and not all.
There are cards you can play to make farming more productive but I cannot list them.
Just bug report what does not work for you and wait for a fix.
I don't think you would be doing anything inherently wrong but there is always that chance I guess. Someone may have advice but I have had almost no luck with farming. Seeds don't grow, outside beds don't water in the rain or with the watering can etc, etc.
I think it's safe to say they know about it at this point.

for me every seed works except of carrots and delphinium. Make sure the plant boxes are full watered (the raindrop symbol disapears). If you use rain for watering your plots, you could get the bug, that its stops at 99% watering and you have to fill the last % manual.
The farm card is useful if you produce seeds to get 6 instead of 3 seeds. The other minor cards don´t realy work, or just make a very low benefit.
I use the tempest minor card to have constant rain, it helps a lot by watering the plots. And use a storage for your seed that your npc can use. The npcs can sow

I've had a few, carrots were the first ones, a T3 grass also would not grow (cant remember what one it was now been in the box for days) and at least two flowers are not growing, I think I'll use a pot and test what grows, and hide the non-working ones, >.> just borked like half the planter boxes in my farm from putting one of the flower seeds in them forgetting it did not work X_X

How long do you have to wait to harvest wheat to actually get both seeds and grains you can turn into flour?

You will have to do ALOT of dedicated wheat farming before it can be substatial for flour.

harvest the wheat with your sickle in hand it will change what the wheat from giving 1-2, to giving 1-4 gives a little over double just doing that

LAst i checked you cannot harvest wheat with a sickle, but for you, i will test it right away.
And yes, you cannot harvest farming grown items with a sickle, except the ones you could sickle in the wild, a.i. water spinach.
And not even having the sickel just in hand makes any difference, sorry m8.

Also small tip. You can give seeds to your follower to have them plant for you. They're not as fast as you, but it saves you from having to use the awful planter UI.

Sadly they can't water though.

Farming seems like it's not working for me. If I put a seed in and then harvest it I'm getting random stuff back, either a plant or a seed or sometimes a plant and a seed. Sometimes nothing at all. I can't figure it out and it just doesn't seem worth the headache.

the most plants works fine for me. There are only a few plants, who give also a seed back, iirc at the current version its only dahlia and another one. The harvest amount you get is random 1-4 plants.
Keep in mind, with the minor farm card you get for 2 plants 6 seeds at the motar. And when you make flour with wheat (oat seems not working atm) only use the seeds, never the fibre, cause you need 10 in both cases and you get even without the farm card more seeds per fibre.

Nothing is not an option here, so you either plant normal plant fibre or i dont know :)

you need to make a watering can (plan needed)
and just simply take to any river/lake/sea and press the button it says bottom right of ya screen
later on you can unlock rain water barrels to fill up ya watering can
so saves you going to the nearest water spot

as of last night there are 5 seeds that dont grow for me, was hoping there was just a trick to them and not the seeds are bugged my farm is in a herb forest, with a tempest card played, the plots have lamp posts to light them as well by time I harvest and replant my farm I can start harvesting crop 1 again thats how big it is
