Hmmmm... Nope. Not on this one... ;) Allthough I like fishing and my baskets are full of fish! . And the augmentation-system will hopefully be revised in the next patch. I think they announced it. Too cumbersome at the moment.
Be thankful that they gave you something to do so you dont babble so much in the forums XD
I did not ask people why they left. In this other thread we discussed you can read some reasons. When I dont like things as the clumsy augmentations system I write it in the feedback system or vote for entries that adress that issue. But even when they dont change it, I can live with it. No game will ever be perfect in any aspect. You can try to change things or leave when you get the feeling that the negative things outweigh the positive. There are enough alternatives.
My impression is that people leave because they dont want to get used with the complexity of the game. Even with the new tutorial abeyance realm you have to find out a lot of things on your own.
On the other hand you have the people that like the game BECAUSE the game and especially the crafting system is complex. So if you change that you have these players complain about the game being too easy, mainstream etc.
Finding out what the majority wants is tricky, isn`t it? Some people say give us offline mode others say we want more multiplayer vault. Some want more building tiles, some want more weapons ... and so on. You can debate till end of all time if it was wise to add the offline mode or rebuild the game instead of adding new content, biomes, vaults etc.
The only thing you and me can do is make suggestions, give feedback and write what`s best for the game in our opinion. Focus on the solution of a problem and not focus on the problem. You talk about "bad features" , "certain mistakes" but thats very vague and dont do anything. What is it you want conretly to be changed? Ideally, you name it and then make a suggestion on how to do it better (like your perk idea). When you want to get heard post it here: https://playnightingale.ideas.aha.io/ . Here you can also see which suggestions are voted by the majority. Number 1 is changing tiles without deconstucting buildings. And guess what will come in their next update? ... Number 4 most voted btw is a better augmentation system.
And yes. The game has to sell good enough that every team member can pay their bills in the end. But you can also be satisfied with a game that may not be in the Top 100 of Steam but has a small steady and happy followership. The downsizing was obviously of economic reasons but the game failed not that they had to close the studio. Which hoepfully will not be the case in the next years.
Just saying you should not stop to criticize what you dont like. When people stop doing this the Devs will not know why people do not play the game any more. You wrote in our last discussion that you have the feeling that I want to stop people saying what they think, when they write negative things about the game . That is abolutly not my intention. Thats why I added this because this affected me and I will work on this. So this was a good critique! Allthough I will defend most parts of the game. But with that angling basket and augmentations-system we agree both that its no good in the actual state.
No, its not your job. But you already did this when you wrote "my idea with the augmentation is a perk system, not this bs. with a perks you could have very nice specialized builds, not the factotum broken one"
You pointed on the problem (augmentations) and gave a possible solution. What the Devs do with it is out of our hands. Better post it in their feedback board because that is what the Devs read and discussing if they want to implement it or not. The more people vote for your idea, the more likely it is to be implemented.
In my eyes thats the better way trying to change the game in the direction that you or I want. Not just saying "Devs are lazy and game's going in the wrong direction". Thats only an example of a very unspecific critique that doesnt help much... well , when you fell better after expressing yourself... OK. Then I think its OK either. ;) But at least you can be respectful to other people including the Devs. I mean they dont sit in their studio asking "How can we best ♥♥♥♥ up all that people that play our game? Oh, yeah. Lets do a wipe" you know? I can understand that people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up seeing all their effort destroyed. And I admit that it is also understandable that people then write in the forum that it sucks... But you also have to respect people responding that it is Early Access and that is not unlikely that this happens.
