What should I do before going to Sylvan's Cradle?
I have finished the starting area and now have the quest to go to Sylvan's Cradle. I have all the basic tools, weapons and clothing with augments on all the clothing. I read somewhere that if you go to the next area unprepared it is very difficult. Should I be unlocking all blueprints and crafting every station I can possibly build at T1 and then crafting everything they can make? It seems like most of the T1 crafting stations only make 1 or 2 basic things. The first attempt at playing, I made a smelter and made a bunch of tin bars to discover I can't do anything with them yet. This time I have tons of tin ore and haven't even crafted the smelter yet.

Are there any "must do's" before moving on to Sylvan's Cradle?

What kind of meds do you mean? I have a few minor healing potions and quite a few foods to increase and restore health. I also have the recovery augment on my axe.

Depends on your difficulty setting. With the easiest setting you can go with your starter outfit and kill everybody. If you chose the nightmare setting, you have to min/max your gear.

But just try and error, jump there and look how it is. You can always come back home and you are not stucked in Sylvans cradle.

Don't overthink it. You're free to jump back and forth between realms as much as you like. Unless you play on harder difficulties (which I wouldn't recommend until you know what you're doing anyway) just relax and explore the game.

A few things I wish I knew when I started:
1. Repairs, health potions, cards and most other magical items cost T1 essence.
2. You can get T1 essence by right-clicking on most items and sacrifice them with "extract".
3. This includes T2 and T3 essences, which yield a lot of T1 essence. This took me far too long to discover. No more running after those orbs!
4. In the beginning you craft everything from tin because it's abundant. As you find better materials, pay attention to the bonuses they confer.
