The only soup recipe I know is Gazpacho and you can buy the recipe at the Desert Gloom trader.
Some foods will require a refined or Calcularian stove to cook them.
Stew isn't a soup. Recipe for stew can be bought at the Herbarium Forest trader.
Broth is not a recipe you can buy it auto comes with the Refined mortar station.
I like the crafting system, too many modern games require little or no thought.
There are far too many "souls like" muscle memory games currently, IMO.
Nightingale takes place in an alternate 19th century and if you look at recipes from the 19th century they were super heavy on lard as a cooking medium.
Julia Child promoted many oily and super buttery recipes, she did not believe in any health food tropes. I think she'd be okay with much of the Nightingale menu. :)
