Ideas for New Guns
I really liked the new Blunderbuss that was added in the last update. It really helps to fill in the gaps for the early game guns.

Now, I think it’s a good time to think about what other guns can be added to this game. In the final release, I think there should be multiple guns across three tiers. Tier 1 being the Slingbow and the new Blunderbuss. Tier 2 being the Chassepot Rifle, Smoothbore (Single Barrel) Shotgun, and Lancaster Pistol. Tier 3 being the Winchester, Lee-Metford, Webley, Porter, and Paradox (Double Barrel) Shotgun.

Being a big fan of Hunt: Showdown, which is another game set in the 1890s I can think of many great Victorian Era/Wild West Era firearms that would fit in perfectly for this game.

Colt 1851 Revolver: (Tier 1) I think this would be perfect as the game’s starting 1 handed ranged weapon. It should use a new ammo type called “Simple Revolver Ammo” which is made from the new Crude Gunpowder used by the Blunderbuss ammo. Simple Revolver Ammo is made from 2 Ingots and 1 crude gunpowder, and produces 32 rounds. The Colt 1851 is a six shot, single action black powder revolver. Like the Webley, the Colt can be fan fired with the RMB to shoot all your remaining rounds very quickly. However, the reload is very slow because you will need to add the powder and ball to each individual cylinder before ramming it down with the revolver’s built in loading lever.

Remington Model 1858: (Tier 2) A newer model of black powder revolvers with a removable cylinder. Reloads are faster than the other revolvers because your character will simply replace the entire cylinder, rather than load each individual chamber. It has less per shot damage than the Lancaster Pistol, but its capacity is better at 6 shots, and also uses the cheaper Simple Revolver ammo like the 1851, rather than the cased ammo used by the Lancaster or Webley. Can also be fan fired like the other revolvers.

Colt Single Action Army: (Tier 3) Also known as the “Peacemaker”, “The Gun that Won the West” and “The Greatest Handgun Ever Made”. This iconic American revolver needs no further introduction. It has the highest per shot damage of any pistol in the game. However, with it’s fixed cylinder, it also has the longest reload time of the tier 3 pistols because your character will need to extract each individual spent casing with the ejector rod before loading in the new round. Oh, and you can fan fire this revolver as well.

Martini-Henry Rifle: (Tier 2) The predecessor to the Lee-Metfort, these two rifle actually saw service at the same time in the British Empire. This is a breech loaded single shot rifle like the Chassepot. However, its lever action breech block can be reloaded faster than its French counterpart, at the cost of some damage.

Mosin-Nagant: (Tier 3) This Russian bolt action rifle is well known for its power and recoil. It has higher damage than the other rifles, but it also has a slower fire rate and a smaller 5 round magazine.

Winchester 1893 Shotgun: (Tier 3) An early pump action shotgun, making it quite advanced for its time. Hold six shells, but being a single barrel shotgun it lacks the option to shoot two barrels at once like the Paradox. It’s per shell damage is the same as the paradox, but it also has a wider spread.

Can you think of any guns from the 1890s or earlier that you would like to see in this game?

I'm more of a 1887 Winchester myself

That could work too, although we we already have the lever Rifle. That's why I prefer the pump shotgun over the lever one.

As for a new tier 2 Shotgun to go with the smoothbore, I think it could be another double barrel shotgun like the Paradox. However, it would be a cheaper Over and Under shotgun with less damage, rather than a coach gun.

I'm a sucker for lever actions plus its . With them already having the animation to shoot and load the next round, i think they can just tweak the assets they have a bit to match what would be needed for the Winchester 1887.

The new weapons however i could see being influenced by the new realms. its hard also because 1910 was the beginning of the 20 century firearm revolution which is largely considered the end of the Victorian era.

The over under shotgun might be better for ranged shooting adding an additional use to it. That or adding a new ammo type, slug for a solid ranged shot for the shotgun.

I can see that. Especially if they add some sort of base defense missions, or PvP raids.

The low tech version would be a simple cannon, like what you would see on a pirate ship. Later you could upgrade to a hand cranked Gatling Gun, then finally you could build a fully automatic machine gun in the form of the Maxim Gun.

I really liked the recent addition of the ornate blunderbuss to the game. It's cool to see a tier 3 shotgun that still uses the Crude Gunpowder. I think this idea should also extend to the pistols I mentioned earlier. I would go with the iconic...

Colt Walker: (Tier 3) The hand cannon of the Wild West. This single action black powder revolver has unmatched per shot damage, but also has the same long reload as the Colt 1851. Also uses the same Simple Revolver Ammo as the 1851 and 1858.

Depicted very accurately in Fistful of Frags, as seen in the beginning of this video.

Good news! The Walker Colt was added in the last patch! Here's hoping more of my suggestion make it into the game.

Bad news... It's really just a reskin of the Webley. It's a break action cartridge fed revolver, despite still having the loading lever and percussion cap nipples. Still, it's really cool to see one of my ideas make it into the game in some capacity.
