More like which instead of what. Explorer's hat and either Calcularian or Hermetic's Gloves.
Rest Druidic for Survivvability or Hermetic for better Magic spell / special bullet damage.
If you can get some Flax fibre use it on the hat otherwise I recommend a T3 Carnute and Jana mix.

i see, so you want the hermetic set and explorers hat for optimal gun damage with t3 carnute leather and Jana fibre. My guy is gonna be crossdressing. The things I do for min/maxing.

The coat has only defensive stats so if with the Peacoat you can hide the pants/shirt.
Also Fabled Harpy for Boots to get max stealth/Speed. Think Explorer was best there too.

so swap out hermetic boot and coat for explorer's boot and coat for style?

Yes and yes coat is mainly damage resistance so I'd prefer style there since we have multiple viable options there.

About the posted videos:It's been done something wrong with the swamp wood handle.sepe wood has a 20% range damage multiplier and swamp wood 25%.the handle can't give less damage. It has been forgotten to be used a piece of metall on the swamp handle(-30 damage).and the shotgun critical damage is too low.The best materials for weapons are tier 4 swamp wood and bombardier or pursuit metal.no enaidia,no sepe wood.
The handles should look like this.sepe wood:80% damage ,swamp wood:85% damage with enaidia metall.
I haven't checked the other videos but in conclusion:You must use guided lumber , tier 4 swamp wood, and bombardier or pursuit. Crack shot perk on the bench and forge card. Then you will have the max damage legit firearm.

You've mentioned the crack shot perk on the bench.

I'm behind the curve a bit on all of the goodies that can be used for crafting as well as just recently getting into T3 equipment range. What are bench perks and where does one acquire them?

Traits are given by the augmentations and minor cards. Ign has all augmentations. Crack shot is from simple saddle rack(meaning you must place it near the crafting bench).
