Coal...is it meant to be a limited resource?

I DO understand that it's found in caves but man, it'a so scarce.

Is there a reason why we cannot make Coal by burning wood in the Brazier or in the Blacksmith's Hearth?

Unless that is, Steel is only used in a limited number of things?

Steel is really only used for endgame benches. You are better off using brass and bronze. Though coal is caves is based on he realm, you could use cheap cards and reset the Realm but that is an exploit and people with burn you at the stake for using that game mechanic.

Is it an exploit when you reset a realm? What is the role if the reset button then? What are you talking about here? Reseting realms is a legit game mechanic omg. How do you supposed to get resources otherwise?

Reseting realms isn't an exploit. You reset for essences, for resources, for farming the bounds for anything. Except the caves you can find coal when you start the vaults by breaking the urns in there.

LOL oh man. I have been resetting realm to farm resources a lot. I better build some barricade around my houses against torches ;)

As for coal, I get a lot from drops in Desert Vault run. Yea, it is cheesy, but those reset itself and I can run it pretty well to get a lot of gunpowder and coal ;)

Yeah, I JUST started on the Vaults and the Desert was my first few runs. Since it's been mentioned here I guess I better start taking a little more time and bust the regular urns as I go along as well. At least until I get enough to make the steel I need.

There will be no torches. Resetting a relm is not an exploit. Raven is just crusty about the folding getting removed.

If you are having trouble finding coal, the guaranteed way to get some is do a desert vault run at the watch. Let everyone rush on ahead of you and beat it, the vault will stay active as long as you are in it. Take your time and go around breaking every wooden barrel you can find. By the end, you should have over 100 at least, plus all the free essence and elemental ammo from the vault.

Oberon's Bounty will massively increase your coal per node as well.

Smash all the jars/jug/vases in public dungeons, lots of coal. let the Folders rip through the map whilst you loot in peace.
