Destroying building pieces/work benches

I may have missed if there is an easier way but once I no longer need a built piece and want to remove it is the only way to destroy it with a tool? I feel like this whole process of building is annoying maybe when in build mode make Right mouse button to delete an item whether its already built or a misplace piece during building?
Also is there a storage system that can come along maybe in a more advanced box that will make it so you don't have to go digging through your storage to try and find the pieces you need to craft something? make the storage a base area add into the building or item your trying to build through the work benches?

Hit X (keyboard) by default, on the bottom of the hud there's a list of other things you can do. The devs are also planning to add a "craft from chests" option.

The "build mode" is what the key bind for it is called and it lets you COPY, MOVE and REMOVE things you have placed.
REMOVE will allow you to disassemble any item and get your construction materials back 100%.

About your STORAGE question, The developers where tuned into a CohhCarnage stream when the game first released into Early Access and mentioned they were working on adding a few methods to "craft from container" and others.
