Best Place to Farm Yew Wood?

I am looking to farm some yew wood I have some but no idea where I got the 2 pieces I have any clues or tips on a place to farm it?

It drops from the Bound Bruisers (the big guys with the hammers). Unsure if it can be harvested later on in the game from trees etc.

hmm I need to figure out best place to get those guys to spawn then even if I have to keep resetting the map

Forest Provisioner->Defense POIs with laser beam device. Kill only Bound Bruisers (the big guys with the hammers) and let others to destroy device, repeat=unlimited Yew.

Thank you this is what I was looking for !!!

Now I just need to find an upgrade to my desert bug chitin, looking for something with better +max health and + max stamina on hides/chitin.

Thanks for the info. While doing this, I found that you can also just go at night and you don't need to do the defense. They spawn to attack you.

A really good source for yew is just running the apex vaults at the watch, but you need to make sure you spam the pickup key or others will loot the yew drop.

And I haven't found any "yew" trees in game yet to harvest this from naturally. I'm all the way up to extreme ascended hunt realms, no yew.

The thing I really want to know is where to does _advanced_ yew drop. I found 1 pc of this. It has even better stats then regular yew. But only 1 pc dropped ever, I can't even process it to lumber to actually use it.

I found exactly 1 aswell.
I am only up to provisioner realms rn on hard, maybe that helps.
But i was all over the 3 realms and only 1 found, no idea what from.

Big bruiser Bound (55?) usually mostly found in the forest realms.
When setting up the portal make sure it's offical name shows up on the spawn list.

Defense event probably fairly easy to farm the spawn at 50-60, as you could just cause it to fail and rebuild the thingy. That is if the giant clubs do not make it fail, lol.

They can spawn everywhere in higher realms. Just use the bloodmoon, maleficiate or deep fae wilds minor cards and you have every few meter a new bound spawn. Bloodmoon and maleficiate increase the drops. But be prepared, you could get a few health trouble

Yeah Blood Moon and forest does not mix well because it makes the realm permanently night. Which means it being permanently cold and losing half your HP.

However the increased drops are great for farming gunpowder as they drop double.

you could make an extra cold resist jacket and eat (hearty) stew with extra cold resist ingredients bass, potatoes, weald bear meat, chamomile...

edit: okay tested, stew or any food with cold resist doesn´t work,

Umm... Did everyone forget about the pylons? 2 out of 3 will give you an attack of Bound on demand, as many times as you like.

i rarely (or never?) seen bruiser in these groups. But at card-nights they are relativ common.

It works, just not the way you think it does.

Resist slow down how fast the bar fills up. Unless you got like 100% resist the bar is eventually going to fill up. This works the same way for heat in the desert and the swamp. Which the only way to see it work is to not have any and then have some, then you see the time difference.

As I was saying Forest defense is the best bet in the 50-60 range. I usually saw at least 1 per wave with 2 out of 3 waves.

The hardest one I had finding was the assassin for the hollow bars, which is 60+

Also keep in mind you do not need a certain realm type, you can just press the extreme when opening the portal and it bumps the level of the realm. So technically you could do Antiquarian Forest card on extreme and they should be there.

i tried 3 stews with 40% and my jacket has 55% cold resist. There was no different in the bar speed with and without the stew.
