The way you look is 100% irrelevant. You can just mash random and play, it doesn't affect anything.
..to you.
Nah, not to anyone. It has zero in game effect. The only effect is on you, and only because you are choosing to let it bother you.
oh im sorry, i didn't realise you knew 'everyone' ..tsk my bad.
The "inherit features from your lineage" is a neat idea, but I don't think it adds anything when the final output looks like the melted guy at the end of "Raiders" ....
I think Nightingale's art style is unique and interesting. Which is partially why I bought it. But like Fable, it tends to lead to people accusing characters of looking ugly when they are meant to fit the setting and art style imo.
Just stating facts. Your character's appearance makes no difference whatsoever in game, there are no game mechanics that change because your nose is slightly larger or your hair is a slightly different style. The only effect is on you and you're choosing to let it bother you. If you decide to choose not to let it bother you then you can play, and enjoy, the game.
Yeah, not sure what the person you are arguing with is even trying to say. Do they actually think gamers don't care about character looks? Why is there character creation in games at all then, and why has it become an almost required feature in RPGs, especially MMOs etc? I think you are either talking to a kid or someone who suffers from Egocentrism.
Egocentrism is the inability to differentiate between self and other. More specifically, it is the inability to accurately assume or understand any perspective other than one's own. -Wiki
Either way, the characters are ugly as hell, and that is one of several reasons I didn't buy the game.
