Guns No ADS?
Of the three guns I've unlocked, the pistol, the rifle, and the shotgun, only one of them has ADS when right clicked? Seriously devs too many places where you have tried to reinvent the wheel.
Don't get me wrong, love the game, but aiming a gun is kinda important.

Right click with a pistol is a dash
Right click with shotgun is a block
Right click with rifle and slingbow aims

Just in the muscle memory alone of playing games for over 35 years hitting right clicking and dashing instead of aiming has screwed up so many shots. Why is that even a thing?

Love the game but seriously, please let us just aim.

Won't lie, this gets me to lol. Love the game and everything to, but I like to aim even for a shotgun that spreads. Which is the main only issue I have with it now.

Course if not pistol aim let me dual weld it lol.

Yeah I found unable to actually aim was awkward.

You can aim. You have a cross hair that is the aim. The weapons aren't accurate enough to Aim like you do with the rifle.

They tried to make each weapon type unique and tailor them more towards their intended play style, and I think it's a good thing. I'd rather they keep the unique abilities of each firearm class, with only rifles having the ability to ADS

Clearly the problem is that you cannot aim down sights using RMB for some of the guns, not that you can't aim at all. RMB to ADS is intuitive and normal for most of us and will be hard for some people to stop trying to do. This is one thing I agree with, all firearms should have RMB set to aim down sights, period.

I think they designed all their mechanics to be used on a gamepad first, hence why there's only 3 'abilities' you can trigger, primary attack, secondary attack, and the extra button for the 3rd option.

Using spells or reloading a gun are separate functions.

Well, I think it's good to think about gamepad users but it's important to have robust KB/Mouse controls and given how many buttons are on modern gamepads there's no good reason why there can't be separate controls for some of these actions. RMB should simply default to "aim down sight" for weapons that you would intuitively want to aim with like a pistol, shotgun, etc. They can easily make other keys/buttons dedicated options for the other actions.

As a control pad user, muscle memory to look down the scope = dash..... this has killed me 3 times now with the starting pistol. I am guessing its a control pad issue as pad support is lacking a lot of love. I was having to get up and go over to my pc constantly so I purchased a wireless mouse and keyboard to switch to when i need to....for this game alone lol

Mine was simply just hunting for the heart shots. Nothing better than stalking a deer, sneak up to get a good shot, hitting right mouse to sight in and dashing into the heard instead.

Yeah did that too lol.
I got lucky with the shotgun in the end. for a few hours after I heard my mate cursing as he kept trying to get heart shots (made worse by the fact in the real world he is an animal lover so its hard for him to kill them in games) That was a frustrating mission.

Just got the pistol and yeah this is strange, why would we dash when we can aim....
Tanyon Mar 11, 2024 @ 1:52pm
I was originally mad about it but there are a couple things that people told me..

1) The range is literally dog water so aiming won't matter because most things will be close.
2) it's hit scan.. as long as the cross-hair is on the target it's a hit.. so no need to ADS.
Wonko486 Mar 11, 2024 @ 2:06pm
The rifles (there's three in the game so far.) all do ADS, but it's not overly useful. The sight isn't great, and it functionally adds very little zoom. Pistols (even with the sniper charm.) aren't long enough range to need ADS, and shotguns are the in the same boat. I did find the choice weird, but it's not game breaking.

I like the different play styles. For long distance where you need to aim, there is the rifle. If something goes wrong, you have enough time to.
For very short distance there is the shotgun, so it is possible that enemeys can reach you (if your damage is to low, you missed, or they are to much). So i can use block for emergency.
And the pistole is middle range, The aiming system isn´t that accurate that you have to zoom in / aim. And you have a mobility. There are some enemeys with range attack/charge where its useful. And the dash fits with every other one handed tool/weapon, where you have it.

Especialy for fps-shooter gamer its could tricky of course. But there are many other games where you can´t "more" aim / zoom in. I like that there are some developers who try a few other things and let even my old bones and muscle learn new tricks (i can remember that Dune was the first RTS and i played it). I hate that argument, every others make it this way, i want it that you do it also. But than we end up with every game is the same in different shapes... (like the state of the current AAA-Games) Stay flexible and learn to addapt new things.
