Can't find Coal / Sulfer?

In a lvl 55? ish provisional realm but can;t seem to find it anywhere, it's still all tin ore or quartz?

I find coal and sulfur in different caves. My usual go to place is the caves in the desert.

I found both in those mine POI's. They often have a cluster of 2 or 3 combat icons on the map, sometimes a fae portal.

I'm having trouble finding caves. Guess it's just bad luck in the random world created or I'm just not finding them. I found one in 3 days and it only had sulfer and not alot.

What i found out today is, that depending on your difficultie, some resources dont even spawn.
I made a Swamp Extreme and never saw tier 1 resources, just Tier 2 and up.

he is 100% correct the 3 enemy spots with a fae portal usually turn out to be a cave.

I tend to seek out the Fae Tower in a new realm and complete it so that it reveals all the POI's. It's pretty easy to identify the clusters that way.

I read diff doesn't even affect resource quality or amount? Just the Realm card e.g. Provisional?

1st antequarian forest along water where there are steep cliffs. Also in the Bastions and fey towers down around the bottom on offshoots. Pays to snoop around. In caves watch for piders. I wish when we moused over a resource it said what the hell it is. Just says the number, ie., 40. Would like to have a name, same for most of the plants, only occasionally arae named ones like shiitake shrooms, delphiniums. Have noticed the more glittery a plant is more likely it will pop out a bag with a named seed or plant type.

I found coal and sulfur nodes in the Tier 1 Desert, the sulfur was underground in one of the agility things. Thinking the "Tier = different nodes" is spot on, though lvl 20 and lvl 30 cards seem to be the same so far :|

Coal and sulfer aren't really abundant resources. However if this is mainly for gunpowder, you can visit some of the essence traders in other realms, and I believe it's 15 T1 essence per gunpowder

If you want an easier time finding the caves: complete the fae tower in the realm. It'll put all the POI's on the map for you. Then you look for the closely clustered "occupation" sites, those'll be caves... usually. There's usually two nodes of each in the mine, and you can throw yourself into the portal at the bottom and run the subsequent dungeon. If you break the gold guilded vases in the dungeon: it'll drop speciality ammo for you. Not a lot of it, but some.
