Quest: Gift for a gardener

Hi!

I am currently stuck on the quest "Gift for a gardener". I am supposed to craft a "Ritual Seed Nursery" and give it to a Automaton Bishop (enemy?) in exchange for another item. Does anyone know how to complete this quest? I have the item but do not have a clue of how to give it to him.

For me, finding a Bishop is much harder. Any idea where they usually appears?

I managed to get the bishop to accept my offering by being away from all the other automation. It would not do anything while any of the automation was in sight.

You can find bishop automaton in desert realms (astrolabe, herbarium, provisioner...)
They are big robots like knights automaton. Use the long view to find them easilier.
When you are near one, it should spawn a blue box and you can put the offering in it.
I tried to do it two times in the astrolabe realm but it didnt want to spawn the box
I managed to finish the quest by :
- unequip the NPC with me because he was trying to kill the bishop (unequip before going to the realm)
- went to provisioner realm and use the spyglass to find a bishop
- went near him and tried to not aggro ennemies

It spawned a blue box but it was glitchy and hidden on a sand hill but i managed to open it.

I had the opportunity to offer something to all 3 now, but so far I am totally clueless on what I can offer. I tried a few resources already, but they were all "given" back to me with no other reward.

So I had to find three different ones before one actually triggered the box. Be aware that any combat near the robos will cancel the box and it might not return, or be respawned. I offered it by walking towards the Boshop holding it in my hands, when the third one finally casted the spell for the blue box, i unequipped it and then put it into the box. It's a bit tedious and feels buggy for now, so just keep trying.

Ok not sure how much this helps but i think there are 2 kinds of large robot. The one with the sword attack didn't work for me it was the one with magic i just slowly walked up to and he gave me the box to trade.

How to find certain mobs:
1. When you create the portal it lists the mobs available on that realm.
(This is IMPORTANT if you are playing at different difficulty levels than others.)
2. Once in the realm you use the Spyglass to see mobs in a distance.
3. You MAY need to take away your companion's weapons when trying to interact peacefully.
(Had this issue trying to trade with the Sun Giant as companion kept attacking and interrupting the animation that creates the offering box.)
4. Some things like the Eoten need to be track using the Enchantment Track Legendary.
(I suggest casting it on a lesser used tool like your Hammer.)

Automation knights are usually hostile on sight of the player. They can be spotted by the larger crown like head (it's 4 busts of a horse head facing the primary directions).

The bishops have a jeweled staff and much more streamlined heads. Bishops are usually peaceful unless you've attacked other automations. Would recommend un-equipping your recruits weapon just in case. I had mine suddenly attack the bishop twice. Nothing hostile, everybody had been peaceful before.

That behavior is annoying. Companions that attacking things just because they are there are annoying. I had a similar issue with the sun giant, had to take away the companions weapon to get the to stop. Companions should only attack hostile targets, as in not chase the wisps and other stuff.

I dropped the seed nursery in the box he dropped. He finally took the offering, but never dropped anything. I ended up just killing him. Check Mate MFR.
