has been spammed so much as to stop all other development. Plus majority wants real servers and player servers. you open your eye and see the real spam.
They are not stopping development on anything. Only prioritized releasing offline mode sooner than later due to high demand, which along with dedicated servers I believe, they have said themselves have always been on the table. Jesus it's amazing how many of you are coming out of the woodwork without understanding what's going on, let alone how much you've all blown this out of proportion.
The servers that I have to connect to are broken...
(Anyone know a cheap vpn or one with a trial?)
Reagrding the announcement above, the offline mode development does not mean we're stopping or de-prioritizing regular feature development, updates, QoL updates, and bug fixes.
We understand concerns and are taking into consideration how offline players could potentially affect online players. We will address these concerns in a future update as we lock down details on this new mode.
I'm sure the developers know that longevity will come through online group play. Games of the genres similar to Nightingale last longer with group features. The ability to go solo and move right into multiplayer with the online character is a good idea. Taking characters created and stored offline into online play is less of a good idea.
I'm thinking they'll hash out a system to isolate offline-only-no-online-option characters and online-only-no-offline-option characters.
Also, it was NEVER on the table to switch online mode for offline mode. It will be an option. Are you against options that will make the game more enjoyable for other players who don't want online HUB anyway, or who don't have good internet connection, or simply just want to enjoy the game as a story-driven survival singleplayer experience?
Just how the western world works now.
Imagine, you are alone on a realm, then everything happens on your machine, no server connection, Then if someone enters your realm, it moves to a server.
That way all of the singleplayer "dorks" don't take up valuable ressources from the servers.
And as a bonus I can finally play the game!
you dont know what the majority wants/feels.
we the posters here are a minority
What is up with these people so against an offline mode?
The same kind of people that are okay with the fact that they don't own their games and that they could lose access to what they have paid at any time?
An offline mode going live also means that if this game tanks/dies quickly, then people can still play it instead of facing closed servers...
There is no negative to adding an offline mode, only positive since it would increase purchases a LOT... which would increase the longevity of always online servers since they'd have more money to keep those money pits running lmao
