Iron ore

Anyone knows where to find iron ore? I do not have even one ingot, and everywhere I was nothing so far. What am I missing! And I am sure I do miss something!

It is in the swamp, as I recall from Alpha and confirmed in discord.
As for where in the swamp, I haven't found one yet myself, still looking.

I used the trickster minor realm card so now when I harvest enemy corpses I get stone and ore, while trees give meat bones and hide, and rocks give wood.

It's kinda hilarious, but it made getting plant fibre and sticks in my realm impossible (they give meat too) lmfao.

I wont go hungry ever again though.

Outside of getting rare ore from killing mobs, I've never actually seen where these ores spawn, so I'm really sorry for not being able to really help.

Maybe try finding a few trickster minor realm cards and hoping you get lucky with the rng of the card so you can also get ore from creatures? This doesn't happen every time you use this minor realm card, its a random chance of it happening.

I found it. the tip with the coast was correct. Its on the coast or side hills. Same with zink.

Swamp for iron and zinc? Perfect! Just need to find copper now, and I'm all set for bronze and brass. Can't be proper steam punk without bronze and brass.

Copper is in desert caves

I use Swamp/Herbarium and walk the coast line, 200 iron ore at least and then reset and do it again.

Trickster resource swapping can also give you ores you can't even mine yet, because you don't have a tool strong enough. On one desert realm, the harmless little critter bugs all dropped weird ores that I hadn't even seen yet. "pursuit" ore, silver, magnesium, etc. I left there with stacks of this stuff.

And apparently you can melt any ore in the smelter, even the simple smelter. There's no gating about needing a higher tier smelter. The gating is all in whether you can mine the stuff or not.

The "pursuit" ore from that one realm was enough to make the barrel and action of my rifle, both with huge ranged bonuses.

When you build the T3 card table and was at "the watch" you can build level 100 cards and can mine that there.

I found iron in the swamp gloom realm, both as the outer edge as at the center, probably random. Couldn't find any in the antiquarian swamp realm though, despite it saying it's in swamp realms of 1-99 power.

I found it pretty frequently with the card combo swamp/astrolab (30). I didn't really search for it, just kept finding it as I was completing the map.
