Personally I wish they'd scrap the entire offline IDea all together. What they have works really well and plays great and I'd greatly prefer they just add more content and MMO type stuff then split their resources.
I personally dont care if I play offline or on, but the announcement did point out that the game was being built to be centred around group play originally, which kind of makes me feel like playing solo places me at a disadvantage for content or something else. IF the game was tailored to groups or co-op I imagine my grind will be exponentially crappier or harder in general because I was supposed to be with others. That is why I feel a bit disheartened by that. Naturally that may not be the case, but that is how it felt when i read it.
The entire end game is based around doing group activities. Steam needs Solo-Online as an option instead of Single Player. This is not a single player game really. You level solo or with friends but end game seems geared towards co-op groups. Which was the part that isn't totally clear until you get playing.
Yeah. It looks like reaching endgame will literally end my game unless I restart. Taht kind of sucks.
Would of preferred the dev time on you know, working on bugs and adding content.
