Be on the lookout for the Gilded Lumber recipe as well, since it allows you to combine wooden and metallic components.
At it's most basic level, this mean that your max possible ranged damage bonus on a Chassepot Rifle for example goes from +75% with all Pursuit Components to +100% with Pursuit Components AND Pursuit Gilded Lumber.
Reason being, shotguns are easy to crit with to to close proximity and the crit calculation is performed on every pellet.
So for example 500 damage x 20 pellets = 10,000 damage x 2.5 crit rate is 25,000 damage.
But 400 x 20 x 5 for example is 40,000.
