Reset portal doesn't work?

I have tried resetting the portal to create a new realm but of same cards. Continue to get the same realm. Is this how it is supposed to be?

Yes, if you use the exactly same cards as last time it will take you to the same realm.

Reset just closes it, repeat with same cards combo in sequence just reopen the same saved instance. You need to open with a different combo to remove it, and then use the previous combo for a different random layout.

Alright. I tried doing different but it may be that that one was saved on the actual portal on my home realm so it just went to that on my crude portal. Thanks.

its not very intuitive. there is a button to reset the portal that just closes it. but after that, even if you use the same cards, there is a little checkbox in the lower left that also says reset, and that will actually create a new instance of the same card combo.

I had the same thing going on. I wanted a fresh swamp provisioner portal because the one I opened never actually opened, it would just start the process and never actually finish. So I ticked to box at the bottom to make a new portal, then I had the open portal button, but when I pressed it nothing happened. The cards are in there, but nothing is happening and I can't remove the cards. I don't know if that specific portal is bugged now or what. I have tried resetting the game and everything.

Disassemble the portal and rebuild it and then try again. If it is a self-made-portal that can help.
