Have the same problem.
Thinking it might be locked bc of progression. I don't know how far you are into the game. But, I'm at the second tier realm right after the first estate realm.

I don't know what all that is really it seems a bit odd. I think it is supposed to be saying that it is required to make the item once you unlock it.

Hey not sure if this is the solution to your problem. But at the top of the relevant craft menu you can select "Show Unknown" which shows all the recipes the augments near it unlocks. I haven't tested to see if they are actually craft able though because I saw it just before I logged off for the night.

Test set up:
- Bench (workbench or sewing)
- Augment within radius of the bench (you'll see the green lines when placing it)
- Go into bench and tick "Show Unknown" in the top left.
- Scroll down and see if the recipes show

If the problem is something else then no clue.

something to note that should be in a tooltip, the Simple workbenches can only make simple items. even if you unlock the recipees you can not craft them untill you have the refined workbenches. you can buy the refined recipees from a trader in the providence realm, third realm.

I had issues as well. For me, the Lancaster Pistol showed up after i had placed the saddle rack, but then when I went back to craft it: it was gone. I solved it by trashing and rebuilding the saddle rack.

So apparently not only do you have to unlock the recipe but you need a corresponding augment as well.

You need to unlock the recipe, as well as have the required augment.

There is currently some bugs involving augments that cause some crafting recipes to disappear. I first noticed it when my SImple Headwrap recipe disappeared and it returned after I moved the Simple Map augment out of its radius.

there is a limited amount of augments that will apply to your bench. Even if there is a green line (i think) it will not take it into account if the slots are full. it is hard to fill slots of refined benches normally except the workbench as it takes pretty much ANY augment.
Xandau Feb 25, 2024 @ 10:28am
The crafting bench will have a limited number of slots for augments. If you have built 5 for example and the bench has room only for four one of the augments will not be "active" You have to move one of the other four out of range and then the fifth one becomes active. however of course the one you moved away no is inactive and you temporarily lose the recipe that one unlocks. Kind of a pain imho. I did read that the higher quality materials you use to build a crafting station may unlock more slots for augments. So maybe the four slot limit on the particular station jumps to five if you rebuild it with tier 3 materials. Not sure on that part though.

Yes, you really at some point want to have more then one workbench, and sort of specialize with each one. Right now I have two, with one being surrounded by all the firearm related augments (saddle rack, felting bucket, and crude ammo box) and the second is for making tools.

Some augments give permanent buffs to crafting items. You have to select a recipe then switch to the "station traits" tap at the top right corner of the window to see them.

Here's a few screenshots of some.

Most of the augments just add the potential to craft new recipes.

There's another thread where someone posted a list of benefits they found on reddit. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1928980/discussions/0/4348858679331396350/?ctp=3

Try using a cleansing card. Worked for me.

This is good to know but I hate it. Like every time I think I'm about to get 1 small step up there's another random step. Like, I got THE MAP, but now I also have to get the table?
I like complex crafting stuff, but my god.

Think of it this way. You can't roast a pig over a campfire without a spit.

That having been said, what they facilitate frequently makes no sense at all, but it's early access

If you are having recipes not showing up in work stations when they should (you have the right tier station and the correct augment) there is a bug.... You will need to break the workbench and rebuild it so it recognizes the new augments. After 10 or so are applied from items and the environment the game stops adding them to the work stations and the rebuild triggers it to check augments again. I just had this issue where the curio for the sun giant main quest was not showing up because the work station was not registering that I built the cauldron . Breaking and rebuilding the augment items does not fix the issue btw gotta rebuild the work station.

System needs work.

I don't think they should have to be in proximity to or linked to specific benches.
Just have one in or around your residence and that should be enough.
The linking lines are too bugged to be reliable as well. I mounted a captains wheel thing on the wall and from x distance away the line is there just fine but if I move it closer onto one of the limited hanging spots I have available it's gone. I didn't check if it actually activated or not. Just assumed it was graphical and moved on.

I agree that what they facilitate the crafting of often seems odd.

Having to put my spit near the bonfire makes no sense because it has no fire or anything so it really wants to be something you can attach to the bonfire and not just place over the top of or nearby to have it 'work'. Just some random weirdness at the moment.
