Companion not shooting sling bow

Even though I have it equipped and have bullets in his inventory he will not shoot the bow. Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening?

You probably missed the message. Currently I don't think AI can shoot stuff, when you make them equip slingbow a message pops up saying "Ai limitation: companions can't efficiently use this weapon currently." or something along those lines, so for now it seems like companions are restricted to melee only. Could try with guns too when you hit that point and see if guns work

ahh ok, i never saw any message like that.

I almost missed it, only noticed it as it was fading out. I'm really looking forward to them expanding the companions and making their ai better. I hope we get to order them around at some point.

Mine doesn't use a sickle. I figured I could let him roam around the house area to trim bushes for free mats/essence. In the end, I came to the assumption (quite probably wrong, ha ha) that they can only use tools that require the player to pick up the harvest, ore and wood to prevent 'essence farming.'
