For those of you getting an error about the GPU running out of memory

Hello,
I've got a 4090 with an Intel i9-14900K. At launch this game wouldn't execute, and instead gave me errors informing me that I was out of memory. Then I recalled that I have similar crashing issues in other games. I found that to fix this error in this game (and others), I have to underclock my CPU to less than 5GHz. So far, under clocking the clock ratio to 49 (which limits my CPU to 4900MHZ) allows this game and many others to run. Just a suggestion. I can post a YouTube video of how to make it work if there's any interest.

So what you are saying is that the game is so un-optimized that you have to "dumb" your computer down to play it. Good to know, thank you.

There is also a hotfix coming out tonight. Above is apparently the workaround if you can't wait until tomorrow.

Unfortunately, COD MW3 is the same. At least it'll start and run for a little while, but inevitably crashes unless I'm underclocked.

heres a post i made on reddit with same issues with the 13900k. i had to RMA my cpu. and now the RMA'd CPU running into issue as well. , contacted asus. they said too broad of a issue and closed the forum post after others chimed in.

Update to latest bios for gigabyte, i heard they patched this issue with the motherboards in one of the latest bios.

Nothing really to do with optimizations. You can't test every possible setup and unlike consoles, which are all the exact same. PC's have millions of different combinations. I've had games not run because they didn't like the headphone driver I was using. Or the fact that I had an RGB mouse pad plugged in. You can't reasonably expect devs to account for every possible PC setup. And any self respecting PC gamer knows this and knows how to troubleshoot. Then we report it and if possible the devs fix it. That's how this workd.
