Maybe. Sounds to me like it's just not updating properly or frequently enough to detect your closest augments. Rebuilding it would work I guess as it forces an update. Moving it might work too. Zoning would have the same effect. Just a thought.
Augments do look quite nice out on the porch or off in a pile somewhere else out of LoS. Never seen a system so unhelpful for players. It's a mystery some dev somewhere didn't just say no, that's really not acceptable. Oh well, guess that's what EA is for. System badly needs a scalpel taken to its overcomplicated self.
