I agree about the whisper, I quickly realized they were an absurdly inefficient way to get hope essence. If dispel caused them to be stunned, as it does with bound, instead of killing them it might be worth the chase especially if they give more than 1, or the costs were much lower for gear. I'm not going to chase and interact with a wisp 250 times for anything.
However a chance was missed with the lore. The whisps are collecting human essence, we should be able to trade with them, or lure them to our abayances and set up a hope collector...
I think (hope) there will be more lore added regarding the fae in the future until release of the game. So far there are no faes in the game apart from Puck.
In the story so far there is indicated that there is a wintercourt and a summercourt (who fight each other?). So maybe you have to fight the faes of the wintercourt and and having faes from the summer court as allies ... ?
Some winter faes patrolling in high level realms would be good for the game as it would add some excitment . At the moment opponents only appear at the POIs. That is very predictable... That's OK while I like relaxing gameplay but when I go into extreme realms I want to have a challenge (as mentioned above) ;)
Community event to add items is good. I do not mind it.
I agree, chasing the wisps can be cumbersome. I think I know why. Hope essence is Tier 4. You can use it to craft epic infusions. I was able to push my simple tools to 97 gear score with advanced Iacanus, spells and infusions at a very early stage in the game. On a quest to see if i can reach 100 on harvest tools before blue upgrades. So it is likely balanced on how to get it.
Additionaly you showed me a new way to get Tier 1 Essences by harvesting fibres . I was collectiong stones and made ammunition for the sling until now :D .
The other thing to really make that scythe stronk is to put a spell on it called shockwave.
It takes a bit to learn how to use it but you cast the spell then hold down button to increase the charges (you will see a small circle filling up) to 9 hits iirc and get even more essences. That combined w Oberon is very fun.
Then put shockwave on your axe and never fear the sites of power again, if you ever did. Makes short work of pesky dervishes and jumping dagger guys. Just don't punt them off the walls as you will have to go find them and kill them if they get outside.
ifarmed fishes
which drop fish essense and hope u only get acouple but it faster with fishing rod and uget fish aswell so win win for me
This might be the place to ask. On my offline toon I have had two convos with Sassa since event started and she refuses to tell me about the event. Is it because I already have it open on another toon or is something borked? We are in the Antaquated forest and I get some hope but not a lot. She's pretty new though. Guess maybe I will go back and see Sassa one more time before I start to obsess. On my first character I had to go see her and get the letter.
About your point that you get more pieces when cooking now: I never had an issue getting enough food. Thats why I did not mention it in my list of positive and negative things. Does not really make a difference for me.
About your point with shockwave: I finished using it. I prefer ranged weapons - rifles and when it comes to close combat pistols. If I use my axe my gear is strong enough to beat enemies with one or two strikes.
I cant tell you about the event quest. I only have my online character and when logging in after the last patch it just shows in my questlist and I went to Sassa. Did not try the new offline mode. I think that you have to be on a certain point in the story, but thats just a guess.
