Do I need to tell Wilhelmina Sasse about Bass Reeves?
I can't work out a way of finishing the quest WITHOUT telling her Bass's secret. Is there a way to progress that quest line or do I have to tell her?

Just tell her. No penalty that I've found. I've gone back to Bass Reeves afterward and he didn't act any differently (which was basically "I've taught you all I can.")

For the time being Bass doesn't hunt you down, so yes you can grass him up.. ;)

are there plans to have NPCs chasing you down??? Might be easier to talk to them than run across the entire map LOL
This quest actually bugs me. I told him I wouldn't say anything, so I don't _want_ to tell her. If the quest had just failed/ended and it dropped off the list... I wouldn't care. But the quest remains forever. That DOES annoy me.

You could untrack it i guess.
But i believe some schematics are locked behind it, but i am not 100% sure on that.

You can untrack a quest. It won't complete, but you no longer have to look at it on the screen.

I have a lower amount of OCD than most gamers, so I don't complete all quests unless they are part of a progression or have a really good reward. Some are just fun to do, so I do them. The really annoying ones, I'm fine skipping them. So cool you can also see the reward for them ahead of time at the same tab where you untrack it.
Guessing faction will come in at some point so making decisions like this mean a bit more.
I just figured it out! refuse to tell her about him and then return to Reeves. You can then warn him that she's snooping around and turn in the quest with him. Pretty sure you only get 100 T1 essence from the bish anyway and I ain't a snitch

Which path did you choose to refuse? At no time does the quest change for me and I went back to Bass after trying a few options but he didn't finish the quest for me on either.
I didn't tell her. Reeves specifically asked me NOT to tell anyone, and he does help your character out. Seems pretty simple. I don't like breaking my word. To real world people or fake video game people. It matters to me personally.

I untracked the quest, but the devs need to come up with a resolution that involves saying no to sasse.

Apologies for coming in late to the party. I've noticed that quest dialogue from your character has a little icon in its top left corner. Though I haven't explored further than telling WS to, essentially, go and get.
Just bumping this for returning players,at the end of the quest you have 2 options, tell her or tell her no. One completes the quest with the rewards the other doesn't. For those with the moral delima of not wanting to go back on your word.
