still shootin marbles!!!
where are the cool weapons and gear. why don't we have nice stuff after 15 hours of game-play?? the hand made stuff looks like mountain man gear while the starter gear looked like city man gear....

crafting is a waste of time atm. dungeons are pedestrian. tools break too fast. essence drop rate is too low.

why don't they have voiced NPCs? Puck is strange.

You need to find Bass Reeves. (I want to say Provisioner Forest) He will give you a quest to shoot stuff (Like a bow hunter). From there you can get talk to Ms Sasse in your home realm and then you should have the option to unlock firearms. Rifle in Swamp, Shotgun in Desert and Pistol right off... I think...

If you go to the guide and go to traders you can actually open all the different traders shops and see what they sell and the cost.

I get drops for lots of different kinds of marbles but don't see any way to make them. Guns for me are down the road, where are the recipes for better marbles til then?

Bass Reeves gives you the Saddle horse augment blueprint you need to build. Then you need to go to the essence trader in the same realm to buy the pistol blueprint, it isn't unlocked from him as stated above.

edit, the pistol is unlocked from the saddle horse. one of those essence traders in the same realm sells the refined benches that you will need too make the pistol though

Not sure for that i never bothered much with that trash sling bow, just smash em with melee.
some of the Barrels with the gold embroidery can drop different types of marbles and ammo though.

I want to know how to make better marbles for the slingshot. Pistol ammo doesn't work with slingshot.

ive come to the conclusion that the sling bow is the better option until you unlock a rifle.
the pistol you get from bass not only has fall off damage, but theres a literal max distance the projectile will travel and then it disappears and its only a few feet in front of you... This will frustrate anyone whos an FPS player.

Where as the sling bow has no fall off damage and the projectile will never just disappear. You will have to arc your shots for sure, but your shots will always hit something so long as the target is rendered.

Ive used it to cheese multiple bosses early on, including an eoten I bugged out on a cliff

LOL thousands of hours in Valheim, trajectory is second nature as long as it's consistent. The slingshot = crude bow lvl4 so not that bad.

This is totally correct I misremembered... you should change the answer... The saddle is what is unlocked... not the pistols.

I have a charm for the pistol that takes away the fall off, i don't mind about the range i'm not using a revolver for sniping, just some close range burst damage on the weakspots. Cool tip though i like me some cheese!

yeah but it makes literally zero sense to have the projectile just.. disappear, while rocks on the other hand.. dont disappear and have no fall off damage..

That is very true

can't fire four projectiles at once at point blank with the bow either. I use the bow for a first shot then I switch to the pistol and hit them with the V key. Great for fae towers. Shotgun has way more damage but is so slow

Far as I can tell there is no way to make the magic ammo yet in game. You can however loot tons of it from the portal dungeons you find in the realms. When you are in the dungeons look for gold trimmed containers, they will drop ammo. The regular non gold trimmed containers are good sources for coal and lumber. These are also found in the Watrch "raid" dungeons as they are the same thing except for the boss at the end.

The Traders on the Asc. Realms do have the recipes for magic ammo. Even the marble ones.
And they also drop from the golden containers in the Vaults.
