How do I portal to a specific place?

I'm rather sick of climbing the cliffs to the Desert Herb chick. How do I setup a direct portal to the top?

Do I need to build a portal gate up there? And if so, from which side do I open the portal? (Ideally I want to portal from my respite realm to the cliff top, I can just recall to Respite If I need to go anywhere else)

Or do I build a Fae Ring? (I had assumed this is only for if you die?)

As far as i can tell, currently there is no way to do this. Maybe they will add it as a new upgraded item or something if people keep asking for it.

Tried what? I've used portals. Knowing how they work, they can't take you to a specific location. Just to the portal on a realm, or the cairn on your abeyance realm.

Cairns unfortunately don't act as teleport locations except for on the abeyance realm.

I've made the faire ring, have yet to use it, but it pretty clearly says it is for a death respawn point. Try placing one and then portal to the realm with one. I have one in my respite realm, it had no affect on where I spawn in. So far I've not died there to see how it works for picking a spawn point on death.

Seems like you could cheese this though. You simply need to kill yourself, then you can spawn at the faire ring. Of course then you drop all your stuff and have to go back and get it, so doesn't seem worth it.

Maybe make stairs up to that butte?

Can't do it with portals. Yes, I tried. I built a portal next to the lady on the desert plateau. Played the Forest and Abeyance Cards. It takes you back to the stone portal at your abeyance realm. If you select reopen portal there it will take you to wherever you previously portaled from and not back to the portal you just made in the desert.

I also tried resetting the portal in the abeyance realm first. Then I reset the portal at the desert lady. Played forest abeyance again. Took me to the stone portal. No option to reopen the portal from there like most other locations.

That being said, it takes me just under two minutes to go from the desert portal to the top of that plateau. That's with the thinned veil minor card I played in that realm. I run to the north side where there is a stepped area. I just jump up the side without using the picks at all and it comes up just behind where the lady is

You also can't do it with the estate and respite points. You can create the estate there but you can't set it as a respite point as you can only do that in an abeyance realm.

Never used the fae rings so can't speak on those
