Anyone find a light source that actually lights??
I have in my 5x5 base 4 candles, 5 chandelier, 4 standing torches and 12 wall torches and I still swear I can barely see anything in certain corners and there are just really dark areas..

Even during the middle of the day it seems a bit dark sometimes. Also I'm using an open concept so the walls are open with the exception of the corners which does seem to help a little during the day.

I've yet to find a source of light (other than the bonfire.) which casts a... respectable volume of actual light. I get that it's mostly for the work stations, but I would still like a well lit base.

That seems like a lot of lights for a 5x5 lol. We have a 3x3, with a chandelier center, and 2 wall sconces per wall, so 9 light sources in total. It is a tad darker at night given that many lights, but its not hard to see either. You're brightness may be a little low? Also I have a Benq monitor which nearly all their monitors have a black balance feature that adds a hint of brightness to darker areas in a game, so could be that too.

As for the lights in the game, I think the output is mostly fine, but the falloff is a bit too much. Lights don't need to be brighter, but they should spread a bit farther than they currently do.

You are correct.. the sources themselves look good and are bright I like them. The drop off or extent at which they light I think could be increased by a good 15-25%.

The game uses a gaslamp setting.

have you ever tried to light a house with just candles?

I think the throw distance of the lights is a little low and the lighting drop off a little high but; that is fairly common in most of these kinds of games.

Prior to electric lights there was no such thing as "well lit"

What helped me a lot was turning down the Lumen setting from Max Quality to Balanced. It improved visibility indoors so much it's not even funny. Try it out.

I just tried that then changed it right back. balanced gives some kind of green'ish hue inside my base, looks odd.

There is material needed to make the hide lamps which gives +10% brightness, but the name escapes me.
I wonder if that would help?

Really? No such issues for me. Maybe it's because of the DLSS settings or something else? It's hard to tell having so many graphical options.

Glad it worked for you. My group had the same issue and we did the same initially, spammed with lights everywhere and it still wasn't bright enough lol. Now we just have some wall torches here and there (or whatever they are called).

I'm on an AMD 6800xt, so no DLSS for me, AMD uses FSR, and just a quick scan I don't see FSR option in here anywhere, but you're probably right, one of the other settings may be screwing with it.

I present to you the Medal of all white Knights for Nightingale. Thank you for your service and going above and beyond for Inflexion Studios.

to me it seemed the tier level of the light item. my house was dark til brass chandelier.
will definatly be on the lookout for +light resources. good catch

So, i also noticed some glass has a modifier for +10% light, even one i saw that had +30%. Not sure if that makes your built light sources stronger, or just lanterns
