Fen Bass? Is that a fish?

The fishing system in this game is utter garbage... if it is.. guess i'm out, not doing that stupidty.

It is. It's in the swamp biome. And the fishing isn't the best I've encountered, but I found if you keep your rod pointed at the fish the line doesn't break nearly as often - not sure if that helps you.

Yeah but it's rather slow that way.
The idea is to try to keep it near the middle mark and hold LMB to wind in.
I cast and then turn roughly 90 degrees to the side and wind them in then.
There are two types in that spot. One is very easy and you catch quickly but the other one - which is the one you want I think - takes somewhat longer.

It is really simple and quickly becomes a chore if you are doing the quest for them. It's not a fun mechanic.

it's not quite as bad as i thought it would be.. just need to remember to pick up the fish.. as it lands in the water at your feet... and then try not to drown trying to get back on shore with the glitchy rod.. wait.. 9 oil.. i have to catch 18 fish.. ffs.

So you basically just haul them in.. 100% success so far, stand on a rock, not the shore.. they always land on the rock when caught, pick up and done. Casting is abit weird tho.

I'm actually falling aaleep fishing. 45 Redeye Bass 18 Fen Bass..

I took literally 10-15 minutes. I did it on my lunch break.

You can speed up fishing significantly by playing a Trickster minor card on the realm. Takes about 2 seconds to reel in a fish.
