Did something go wrong at my game start?

I just got the game. made my char.

Started in a temple place with puck calling me to come,
went to him, talked, got cards and it took me into a "byway realm"

Inside that first portal i am in a small forest island with 100s of enemies running to kill me,
there is water all around the island and another portal thing (i have no cards)

Log says "enter the forest byway realm" (if that is not what i just did?)

I agree, that isn't what I experienced. What difficulty level did you use? Extreme? I used Easy.

So first place after temple with puck, island full of enemies and ive no way to leave the island, am i missing something?

Normal, but i mean what do i do on the small island with all the enemies? There is nothing but trees and a dead portal on that island and quest says "enter forest byway realm"

Is it a bug or does the game start on a forest island with enemies and no cards to get off the small 1 minute island?

How do i follow the quest "enter a forest byway realm" from that island with all the enemies and trees?

What is the secret solution, how have other people progressed from this first realm?

All i can do is run to portal that needs cards, and run to other side of island, there is nothing to do on the island besides all the monsters?

Its glitched. Enemies are supposed to spawn in the creepy tunnels before you go to the forest, not after. Its the tutorial area. Might need to restart.

In the upper right, it always shows you what you current mission/objective/quest is. Puck gives you clues, but later in the game, he just shows up at random moments and no longer gives out missions.

I don't recall what it says, I think you have to get some berries and cook them and eat 3 of them. Once you do that, Puck will show up and give you the realm card you need to go to the next tutorial realm.

So it goes like this:
1) Cave, teleport to
2) Forest, some mission to complete, teleport to
3) Swamp, some mission to complete, teleport to
4) Desert, some mission to complete, teleport to
5) Your choice of abeyance realm (forest, swamp, or desert). Forest is my favorite. Most would say this is the end of the tutorial.

You will have more missions and occasionally Puck shows up when you complete them. You then do your first Tower of Power and then see very little of Puck after that.

First meet in old ruins, gives me cards, says hurry inside there.
go into that portal, small tiny island 100s of zombies attacking me right away.
no puck there at all, just enemies and another portal saying ive no cards.
Log doesnt change from "enter forest byway realm".

This whole tutorial thing (the 3 biomes you visit that they call the byways) is pretty buggy. People get stuck in it. Some have had luck just creating a new character and trying again. Works for most people, but sometimes the portal just doesn't work.

Creating a new character worked, was a totally different experience when i ended up in the real calm first byway realm. thanks ^^
