... or for that matter, anything other than a turban and serape?
You can look up what merchant sells what schematics by checking Stores tab under Guidebook.

Are you noticing or are you one of them who prefers to look the other way?
The 'turbans' the 'feminist' clothings, the amount of icons that uses 'body type 2' as a default icon for clothing...

Go to the watch and look at every single NPC there and tell me what you notice?

I'm not there yet; only just finished the Antiquarian dungeon in my Abeyance realm.

It feels like you're implying I'm easily offended. I must admit I am somewhat perturbed that the advertising for this game shows phenomenal Victorian clothing in vibrant and varied colorings (for both "body types")... but I appear to be stuck with yellow hide wraps after more than a dozen hours of grinding various materials.

Where are the clothes? Where are the dyes?

Aha! So there are more clothing items! That gives me some hope. I stole my recruit's hat immediately, because it was better (looking) than the turban that appears to be the only headgear I can make.

you could go for the twitch drops, you get an entire armorset in purple n white.
but also the recipes to craft them anew.

also you get advanced crafting stations once you reach a lv40 realm
which also adds new clothing options

Yeah, no. That's going outside the game to get in-game stuff, and I prefer a vanilla experience. Not going to debate this, but that topic is a dead end.

Ok, that's more like an actual answer; thank you for the information.

I'm not talking just about clothing, by the time you get to the end of the questline and visit that area, pay close attention to every single NPC you see and their skin color, then you'll notice something.

Why is it, that there are no 'cool' looking armor in this game? Why is it, that there's only mainly Victorian era clothing that mostly look like dresses, if not wearing fancy shirts and pants that are akin to suits? The Jackets are somewhat like Trench coats, but they are often really big and long like a overcoat for women.

Since the game takes place in the 18th century, the concept of body armor was already a thing from medieval history, and yet, humans decides to just wear fabric to protect themselves.

Oh when you start the Early access for this game and look at the intro where you see their disclaimer and message pop up, look clearly at the background image... Like it will stop being 'blurred' at a certain point...

You will see a male character wearing padded armor attached to his jacket.

So you're saying you're a racist? If not, then I don't understand.

Since they are being inclusive to visible minority groups and omit the rest.
Call the game out for what it is, being biased on it's own aesthetics.

Is "the rest" just "white people"? I really don't understand your complaint, could you please be more specific as to your meaning?

Getting back on topic:

I bought this game to have an adventure in dapper duds... and so far, all I've experienced is grinding in my yellow leather wraps. I understand there's a learning curve, and a gear curve... but I'm regretting having dusted my original outfit, because I now look like a goatherder in a third-world country, with no means of resolving that issue in sight.

There's not even any dyes, let alone anything resembling "actual clothing"... The trailers show people bouncing all over the landscape in fancy dinnerwear, but all I've managed to cobble together so far makes sweatpants look like it has a shape.

That's acceptable an hour or two in, but I'm at nearly 14 hours of super-grindy playtime and this is still all I have access to?

So you're not just racist, you're also too dumb to know that the Victorian era was in the 19th century (it's called Victorian because it's named after Queen Victoria, who reigned from 1837 till 1901) and not the 18th century (which would have been, in this order, Baroque - till about 1750 - Rococo and early Regency/Napoleonic period) ... Metal body armor had pretty much gone out of fashion by the 19th century because it's not very effective against firearms, which were predominantly used in battle in that era already. The average soldier uniform was made of fabric and leather (the helmets), and metal parts for decoration and buttons. So, yes, people did know about body armor but it simply wasn't used because the widespread use of firearms had basically rendered metal body armor useless.

Yikes... fix those quotes, Vela.
