Nigtengale Engine.ini tweaks
Greetings everyone,

I am not skilled at the Unreal Engine tweaks look toward Nightengale Nexus and discover
https://www.nexusmods.com/nightingale/mods/3

It is pretty good which takes out a lot of "extras" and makes it run smoother. I am not a big fan of grass because it "hides" all the resources I needed to find (that was probably intentional by the dev to make the world look nice)

but I found the tweak to Engine.ini to be TOO good. It seems the musical puzzle does not display the "glows" properly. I did the tweak in the discussion

r.ParticleLightQuality=0 to r.ParticleLightQuality=1

If you still can't see them, then change this as well:

r.LightFunctionQuality=0 to r.LightFunctionQuality=2

But it is not showing like it used to (some extra particles/effects look like a mini light explosion), I figure y'all know this a whole lot more than I do. I have been trying to Google it, but some of it is a bit over my current knowledge of this.

Can someone help me with this? Thanks a bunch!

I think you’d prob have to delete the shaders folder in steam, then the game upon startup will recompile them as if you just booted up the game first time. It may fix your issue, caveat you don’t use the same settings on the uni engine tweaked while doing this.
Oooo...... I will have to do that when I get home. I forgot about it :)

thanks. I hope this will work, I will post it later.

Just make sure you’re deleting it from the Steam apps folder and also do the Steam settings then downloads clear cache, the folder itself won’t actually say nightingale but instead will be an ID number it will look something like this “ \steamapps\shadercache\275850\ “ (this is no man’s sky cache folder” delete everything you see in that folder. You can find the correct ID here https://steamdb.info/app/1928980/subs/
If you can’t find the specific folder ID and delete say all of them be aware steam will want to download the shader files for all the games you currently have installed.

That file on nexus mods is just a bunch of unreal engine tweaks, not everything in it is supported by the game.

Like these lines:

r.RayTracing.Enable=0
r.RayTracing.EnableInGame=0

Have no effect ingame at all.

To find out what works and what doesnt you have to add these lines to the engine.ini one by one yourself

Yea. I am trying that, but when I remove it all and use the "grass" effect only, it permanently changes my Nightengale effect and does not change it back :(

example: the portal usually has that cool "lightning" effect while turning on, it is no longer showing and just "glows" so I figure one of the settings permanently turn it off and I have no idea how to turn it back on :(
