My RTX 4090/13700k PC crashes (hard and soft) often with this game...
and also many other newer Unreal games. What is up with that? It is weird because I have a RTX 3090 and RTX 2080ti and they both run the game fine with minimal crashes or none at all. My son uses a RTX 3050 and no crash.

I have sent report after report to the developers but what good does that do if no one ever contacts me to tell me how to fix the issue. I don't know what is going on.

Before anyone tells me, I have tried all the usual fixes. Still crashes.

And before anyone says my PC is bad I really have no other issues with any other games except newer Unreal games.

I wish the devs would get in touch with me. But if anyone has any suggestions or are having the same problem with similar hardware please let me know.

I want to use my good PC without crashing all the time.

Same.. crashing non-stop now. I have just shy of 67 hours, all of which have been plenty fine. Updated my GPU drivers this morning (Radeon 7900 XTX) and hard lock after about five minutes, EVERY time.

I rolled back my drivers with DDU, reinstalled the previous drivers that were working, and am still getting the crash.

I am pretty blown away by this one.. the one thing that I changed which should have improved performance (Nightingale was listed in the GPU driver update), I now crash, requiring a reboot (everything freezes). Rolling back the one change I did (through the cleanest method possible, DDU), and I am still crashing. Every time, I get about five minutes of playtime before my PC loses its mind.

Again, I can't even fathom what is going on now. Nothing else change; no game updates, rolled back to drivers that I knew worked (got 67 hours of playtime with no problems); but now it's just FUBAR.

I completely removed game, roaming directories, and any instances to Nightingale in my registry. Going to re-install and see if I have the same issues..

I have a 4090 and I9 13900k . I had crashes with Remnant 2, Its the only other Unreal engine game I had issues with and the fix for that was updating my mobo BIOS (MSI Z790 WIFI Edge). Other ppl also reported this fixed there issue as well. It worth checking out if your still running the default BIOS that was installed when purchased.

Thanks for the reply.
I have already updated my MB bios. Was there a particular setting that your new bios changed?

Wow. That is kind of my experience also. Mainly the RTX 4090 for me. Why does the high end gpus have to crash? Lol.
Lies of P also gave me trouble with the compiling shaders as well as some other games. But that seems to be fixed for that game now.
Unreal Engine in general doesn't like some gpus. I just want to know why.

The devs read the error reports. I wish they would tell me what is causing the crash on my end.

Same GPU/CPU combo and was also crashing frequently. I saw someone suggest unchecking the box to turn off frame generation in the settings as a possible fix and that has worked for me. I haven't crashed since. *knock on wood*

I don't use frame gen. :)

I played 3 hours on my first night with no issues and now I cant even start it up, it just crashes over and over. my drivers are on the newest update, I've verified game files, I sent in a ticket about it and they emailed back and asked me to provide more info on the crashes by screenshotting info IN GAME. I CANT START THE GAME FFS.

Just send dxdiag log and the game play data that is saved on the PC. They never told me to screenshot anything. That is odd.

I made a post about this. The engine/game hates overclocking. I was crashing often and every single time I went through a portal. Once I disabled the overclock on my CPU I haven't crashed in days of playing.

I have a post with the steps I took to resolve the issue.

Also turn off "frame generation" in the graphics settings. That seems to be an issue for a lot of folks, including me (RTX 4090).

This is the only thing that made this game crash for me. I turned it off and have been smooth sailing since, I assume the OP has already done this as he mentioned he tried all the usual suspects.

Frame gen has been broken since the Stress Test and needs to be fixed asap !

To even run Lumen on quality or ultra setting you really need Frame gen on...

Frame gen when it works is absolutely amazing. it works flawlessly until it doesn't and crashes. I really hope in the coming weeks this gets fixed.

True, When it works its good getting over 100fps with ultra settings, but then you get frequent stutters until it crashes are a headache

13th gen 13900k is known to have issues in a lot of UE5 games especially the "out of memory error". The "fix" for that is to downclock the CPU multiplier by 1x or 2x and disable any overclocks.

It can happen with some 13700k users as well.

Another known issue is overclocks in general or Frame gen Enabled on some of the recent games. Banishers ghost of new eden had the same frame gen crashes as This game for some rtx 4000 series nvidia users.

You can try to set the games .exe compatibility mode to win 8 as well, but it doesn't always work.

If you have a 13700k or 13900k I would look into the reducing the cpu multiplier. It is a very common issue just google it and you will see for UE5.
