Increased storage better for early game?
I'm wondering if increasing the storage you have available for example Angling Basket would help the early game to feel better. I have started the game four times and always end up with rows and rows of Angling Baskets.

It could be as simple as increasing the Angling Baskets capacity from 15 to 20.

I also like to use them later on when possible heh.

Pretty soon you get chests @ 40 limit.
Then cupboards for 50 and better chests for 55.
I don't think lots of baskets early on hurts anyone as they are incredibly cheap and easy to make. I doubt it would be the difference to many people as to whether they give up on the game or not. There are a lot worse issues with the game than this but it also wouldn't bother me if the size was increased. It's a pretty arbitrary limit since they are obviously magical as one slot can hold 100 lumber which you wouldn't think to look at them.

I have recently taken to stacking angling baskets on top of weathered chests for a slightly more vertical storage solution. I'm still early game, but there are a lot of different materials that look exactly the same, and the only real solution is to put them in separate containers.

Oh man... When the devs finally start giving pictures to every crafting resuorce in the game, itll be soooo much easier.

And i do the same, once you are able to build the shelving unit, thank goodness we're able to stack weathered trunks onto the shelves. WHat I ended up doing was having a shelf of four storage boxes for each group of items.

A metal shelf, with four storage boxes storing all the metal items, then a wood shelf for all the wood items, food shelf, fiber shelf, cloth shelf, leather shelf etc...

I think alot of us especially early game end up hanging onto alot of stuff we really dont need. Im mid game now and only recently realized that much of the resources I was hanging onto Ill never use. So I went through on a "clean-up extraction day" and extracted all those old hides and fibers I knew Id never use for making new gear. Ill never use a normal piece of tier one lumber to make a tool or weapon ya know? Always try to use the most sparkly lumber I can find :)

While I understand where you're coming from, that "tier zero" junk is actually good for base-building; there's no buffs for walls and floors, so use the stuff that you're not ever going to make gear out of to build your houses.

yeah for sure, my bad, I meant extracting things like the hides gathered from the abeyance realm.. though, now that I think about it, I havent really built many upgraded and fancy walls/furniture/accent items just yet... So... would it be better to hang onto everything, but just store like "low-level building materials" in maybe a seperate room, like an overflow room sorta?

Idk if increasing early game storage is a good idea. It feels pretty balanced right now.

I think i'd rather see the ability to upgrade structures similar to how Icarus handles it, without needing to remove the existing ones.

Currently you have to remove existing structures in order to upgrade them to nicer looking blocks. That means any chests on the ground have to be emptied and moved. Which means committing to an early base with lots of storage can be detrimental.

If we could upgrade things without removing them, you could easily just build whatever base design you want using the early game blocks. That would allow you to place all the baskets you want until you get to mid game.

You can just move the chest no need to empty them.
