Why are different servers more stable??? (PLEASE READ OP!)
This is to go with my other post concerning the network errors:

So, anyone will know that the reason why other servers would be more stable is due to being in a different time zone (for one) because it is peak time SOMEWHERE but not EVERYWHERE at the same time!... But, also because the SERVER closest to you might actually be offline/having issues/be currently full/etc.

I am far more stable on America West-Coast than Europe West however.... (no portal lag, no game lag, etc)

But then its not peak time there at all currently (???) -

But, here is the weirdest thing... it is the MOST STABLE the game has EVERY been for me.... and i live in the UK!

Because this is God's country, but we welcome those from far away lands. Enjoy. But mostly you have hit the nail on the head. Don't play prime time on a server in EA. it will just make your life easier. ESO a bunch of us from W US used to PvP on the EU server, with that 8 hr difference the whole world was ours. lol

Yes, us on the US west coast do have it good when it comes to prime time. Most gamers in the US are on the east coast. Us on the west can play late, but not too late and miss the peak of players. We still have enough players to though to always get a good server. Typically one near Los Angeles in California.

A Europe server would be smack dab in the middle of a lot of different players. Prime time there is bound to be one of worst places for server loading. So if we assume the servers are overloaded, it would be one of the worst for that. That being said, with just 5k playing right now, I wouldn't think server loading is a problem anymore.

I don't think the US west coast has ever been a problem area (at least not for me). Also consider that from what I've heard, these are Google servers. And Google is a US west coast company. I can drive from my home to one of Googles offices in less than an hour.
I'm in Wisconsin, US and fps/latency issues have skyrocketed this year. I created an EU character just tonight. The latency is a bit high but my fps has been steady, around 60 (my cap). I haven't gotten loading screens or been kicked out of the server like I do in NA server.

Could be your isp is have a cheese problem. :steamhappy:

I was reading somewhere recently that one of the elephants in the room with cable and internet connections all over the US is one of age. Since lots of companies put out cable and there has never been an quality controls or rules some of the equipment used is now decades old and harsh environments like the midwest is hard on stuff. You might also check your in house wiring (got a cat?) and discuss this with your carrier.
Why do I know this? I was having all kinds of issues a couple years past and finally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ enough at Xfinity to get them out only to find that the cable to my digs was totally goofy. It was for a single dwelling, then split into 4 and 20 yrs old, patched together. They had to pull new wires and it took them 1 1/2 yrs to do the final fix but I got some kind of booster box in the meantime. It was a total pita dealing with them but this is happening all over the US, especially in more rural areas with no competition and no rules or guidelines. Just saying. And a lot depends also on routing w your isp. It could be taking some circuitous route.

There are some apps that will check your routing and select the best one for you. I think the one I used for a while was subscription with maybe a free test period and I am not trying to sell it so I will leave it up to you to find one if that interests you. Probably something free out there.
They give you a report of sorts for each and every stop on the way to your destination so you can see every glitch and who is to blame. Then it just finds the best route for you. Pretty good I guess if you have real issues and it is an ISP routing problem. I fear a lot of people want to think it's not their own system or house wiring at fault but sometimes it simply is and nothing else will help.

I just did a google search for 'game routing app' and the one I was thinking of was in the top 5 hits. I don't think the idea of a subscription appealed to me as I am in Australia and our internet to US and EU servers is so slow even a 20% improvement still makes it a joke so why bother.

I agree, lots of companies are running on old outdated hardware. AT&T has been the only internet provider in my rural area for years and they constantly told us 50MBps was the fastest speeds possible in our area due to us being way out in the country.

It was a lie because 7 months ago the tiny co-op electric company I get my power from spent 3 months running new lines in this entire area then let me know they offered 1GB fiber for even less than AT&T was charging us for crappy slow internet. I got it and was surprised that when he hooked it up I was getting 700MBps down and 650MBps up speeds then after doing something in the huge box he put on my house my down speeds jumped to 875MBps and my up speeds went to 850MBps, he told me that was the best he could get but due to the huge demand they would be installing new servers this summer in their headquarters and getting in new box's for customer homes so he would return around July and get even more speed for me.

I told him about AT&T and he said they had employees who did not know how to do networking and that their hardware is seriously outdated. He said when he was in training for his current job they showed them how with the proper hardware and settings it was possible to get over 3GB speeds even in rural homes way out in the middle of nowhere like mine. The problem is most internet companies do not want to upgrade their hardware or run fiber cables. They just want to keep charging high prices while running on ancient hardware.

I am sure AT&T will soon be out here running new lines because now they are losing a lot of customers to the tiny mom and pop co-op electric company offering fiber optic service, they now have competition and they either upgrade to compete or lose customers and money. It is also funny how when using AT&T running a speed test it routed me to a Dallas server saying that was the closest to me despite Dallas being over 7 hours away from me but now it routes me to a server located in a small hole in the wall town about 30 minutes from me that is not really a town but an intersection that only has 4 buildings, 2 fast food places, a post office and a gas station and that is the entire so called town. You would think the big internet companies would be the first to embrace new tech to boost their customer base but it looks like the small unknown companies are grabbing that tech first.

Hopefully now that smaller companies are getting into internet and cable services the bigger companies will start doing their jobs properly or lose money and go out of business.
