best building tileset?
Stave is what I've used for my house - nice and airy look, though I think it probably doesn't scale to very huge houses that well. hope you like making gilded lumber!

Bhutan looks good, some of the interior decoration is fantastic (e.g. the pillars) - I haven't checked but I think this is probably the easiest of the endgame tilesets to build in bulk

Pagoda seems a little too fancy for a house - needs some simpler/plainer bits I think. much like Stave, Pagoda is a resource hog

for the earlier tilesets:
Tudor is okay, some great interior staircases.
Shack is underrated (has great balconies, which can fit onto other tilesets)
Desert is solid, I use it for outdoor garden/farm areas alongside other tilesets

oh that would have been a smarter way to obtain it, I built all mine with a bazillion tons of silver and regular wood

in return here's one minor tip which is non-spoilery - once you reach the "ascended" realms, one of the traders will sell all four bundles of a particular advanced design set (the three you haven't seen yet) - but if you talk to the guy near him in the same building, you can get the first one (basic) set for free (since you probably won't have much T3 essence yet this is helpful)

there's furniture designs available from the second trader on these levels, but what's available seems to rotate or change (haven't been paying close enough attention)

Yea the problem really is the build limit.
I am playing solo and my base, walls and stuff, is max and not even done yet.
So lets hope the limit will be removed ot extra high, like 1000+ or so.
And thx for the headsup for the trader, with the speed i play it will be still abit :)

I am currently building 1 massive place out of Pagoda, Butan, and Desert. I think I am at 8 separate buildings all combined into 1 massive place.

build limit is an issue, but one thing I did when I when from Tudor to Stave is build my house to a smaller and more open plan - Stave I think works well for this, it has a nice fully-open window wall that lets you make enclosed balconies. I lost an entire storey of space but I feel like the house is bigger.

ALSO! each of the traders you buy the sets from is always inside a small two-storey building built in the style they sell, so you can immediately see whether you want to buy them

sounds awesome! my main house is a modest Stave lodge overlooking a lake, with a lower Desert platform for farming/gardening.

there's a side platform with my various portals on it which I'm thinking I will rebuild as Pagoda style - not sure what I will use as the foundation though

that looks incredible!

the problem I have with crude stone is it's so weak, I accidentally destroyed sections of my house twice

1st thing I do every time I walk in the door is hit 'H' to put away my tools.

Its true for the new stuff too; I made a pagoda wall and forgot; tried to climb it with my picks, and destroyed it instead :)

I was excited for tudor, but the first bits I built looked greyed out, dirty and dingy.

My favorite combination now is desert and bhutan.

I use desert for lower 1st floor (I just like the big solid stone blocks).

But bhutan is hands down the prettiest looking building set. Everything is intricately detailed, and lots of colors and gilding. It also sort of matches the same color scheme of the desert blocks, with lots of the same shade of red. Overall it's pretty unified looking.

I like the crude stone. I added a Tudor section to the 2nd floor and wound up with a renovated feeling Frankenstein castle.

right, but I accidentally destroyed crude stone foundations while trying to harvest nearby crude fibre. it's a different level of delicate!

Go to the swamp in the 100 card realm and beat down the essence traders (with the other NPC too) house. Set it to easy mode if that's all you want and on the run to the house just stop off and rip down anything else for the lumber. Tonnes of resources in 15 minutes or less.
