Remember to remove stumps (and beware allies with axes)

I just lost about 6 hours of work due to my ally going full psycho on all the trees around my estate. I did not know that tree stumps can be regrown my certain mobs and when came to my house, they suddenly regrew. I lost chests, floors, roofing; nearly my entire estate.

Hard lesson learned; I wanted to warn others before they too fall victim of regrowing trees and allies armed with axes

There's a bug in which the carnute can even still regrow trees from nothing so even still your not entirely safe if it decides to bug out. It can also cause trees to become invincible I have two trees that are permanent on my estate. If your rebuilding move away from trees entirely lest the same happens to you and you have to move an entire maxxed out structure. It cost me hours and hours not fun.

In all honestly, given the fact we have access (or will have for newer players) to the regrow spell. The carnute serves no purpose and just needs to go away.

Thank you for the warning, Realmwalker! My recruit now merely has a mallet, as even without it being dangerous, it was so annoying to have him walk of, cut down random trees and mostly not pick up the wood.

I pretty much just did away with my followers. I only go and recruit them when I decide to relocate my estate elsewhere and need a mule/construction bot to rebuild at the new location.

How long does it take trees to regrow? I had trees cut down for many in game days and nothing regrew. Some I cut the stumps and some I left but still have the same result.
I need lumber now and I have to travel quite a long way to harvest trees.

They don't regrow naturally, only the Big blue creature can regenerate trees, bushes, plants and even a creature if you haven't carved it up. Or a spell I think but I don't have that. Also I think if you cut the stumps down, the trees will not regrow but if you leave the stumps, then they should regrow but only if the magic creature does it's thing.
