Ascended Astrolabe Desert, using a Dauntless Axepick, Two players were in the realm (one follower only), and all trees were causing this. Had them start running the moment I cut the tree to confirm reproduction of the rubber bandings.
For the hard crash I cut three trees at once. Ran to the next before the previous had time to fall and turn into logs. This hard locked the realm, crashed me, and once I was offline, it unfroze and dropped the logs.
Tell the team not to wait for the trees to fall, cut - move to next - cut - repeat. <--- this is how tree farming works in most other games, cut a bunch at once not standing there waiting.
What axe are you using to cut the trees?
Is that using oberon's bounty or just normal chopping?

edit: Maybe it helps, but the tier 1 trees have the old axe icon for me, while the logs and tier 0 trees have a square one (new I guess) with a broken line in it.
The recommended card does hardly match the requirements currently due to a memory leak causing severe slowdown after prolonged play it starts after about 15-10 minutes to drop the fps down to very slow speeds.
I would recommend also trying atleast to implement FSR 3 or 2 into the game, give fsr 3 a priority atleast it is very good, you will be able to have more customers this way as you get very good performance on taxing games with those upscaling methods prior too DLSS that require specific graphics cards to use, as aswell fixing the memory leaking issue the game has.
No minor realm cards activated.
On my third attempt I found something quite interesting.
The tree is marked as green axe (choppable) with my axe in hand.
If I switch to different tools I get various different values:
Sickle tree needs axe 58
hunting knive tree need 78
pickaxe 72
hammer 20
only torch in left hand 6
Maybe the tree broke and now an attempt to fell it can not be handled.
Checked another tree next to it and it was fine, with all tools it showed (10) and I could fell it without crash
