Nightingale saves taking up hard drive space
Just noticed my hardrive space has gone down by over 100 gig
I checked through my c: drive in apps local data and found a file
related to Nightingale. Name is NWX in saves/logs using up
approx 133gig of hard drive space. I have noticed recently that
I have to start the game through steam page otherwise starting through
desktop icon will start the game but not appear on the screen.
I then have to remove the startup of NWX in task manager to stop
the program running and restart.
Anyone else got this problem?

I have about 200 hours in the game over 3 characters, my Appdata/Local/NWX folder is 391MB so there is definitely something weird going on if you have 133GB in there.

How much of that 133GB is in the logs folder? you can probably delete those, wouldn't touch the saves folder tho for obvious reasons.

Always online but uses your computer for saves game..

Pretty sure the saves are just client side data, like graphic settings and other preferences as opposed to full save data info like bases/storage etc which are probably all server side.
Interesting point though, maybe 133GB folders will be the norm for offline mode :p

Yeh probably correct.

Thanks for all the advice.
I just checked again and every time I try to start the
game from desktop it just starts and runs in the background.
Then I have to go to my task manager, find nwx folder and end
task. After this happens I can start up again and it works.
This all started after the last patch.
I also checked the save game folder and it just did a backup
of 12 gigs. I would say this is happening every time I
start the game. The backup goes into the logs folder.
I have deleted all the backups and got back around 120 gigs.
Looks like will just have to keep checking and deleting until
I can work out why its happening. I am at the end game
now and just farming t3 essence to get better gear etc.
thanks

hmm 533 mb in my logs.. I just hope that by deleting them, you don't log in some day to find everything is gone.

Have you done a verify on steam? Things can get corrupted. Worth a try.

Yes done the verify, no difference.
I will just deal with it after each play.
Thanks

My Logs is only about 55Mb. Those this depend on the number of characters and how much you have played them and achieved in game. I have only one that has unlocked up to the Hunt Cards. Other 1 was left just after the tutorial.

Everything is back to normal now, checked my
logs and they are tiny in size compared to before.
Seems like all good, I can even start the game
from my desktop icon without having to fix
the problem.
Thanks for all the feedback

Just checked mine, it's 1.51Gb, which - while not crazy large like yours - is still weirdly large for something like this.

looking at the contents of the files... if the process is hanging, you might want to open the NWX file and see what it is hanging on. Those log files show the application loading and unloading process as part of the crash and error detection system. If you're NWX file by itself is large, that most likely means your game is encountering a ton of errors and they are showing up in the log.

Every thing is working fine now, I dont know why tho.
I know that I am not getting as many errors as before.
Previously I would get numerous errors when trying to go
from 1 realm to another. ie: network errors. All seems to be fine now.
Thanks for all the input.
