Request for offline mode (confirmed not to have it)
Hello friends. Today I want to talk to you about an issue that concerns me, and I think should concern all of us who are fans of Inflexion Games and their next game, Fantasy Survival, which promises to revolutionise the genre. It's the offline mode, or rather the lack of it.

Yes, you read that right. It turns out that the developers have confirmed on their official Discord that the game will not have an offline mode, which means that if we want to play, we will always have to be connected to the Internet. This may seem normal for an online game, but there are several reasons why I think it is a mistake and an unnecessary limitation.

The first is that not all of us have a stable and quality connection. For example, I travel a lot for work and don't always have access to a wifi network or a sufficient data rate. This prevents me from enjoying the game when I am away from home, which is very frustrating. Why can't I play on a plane, train or hotel? Why do I have to rely on something external to the game to enjoy it?

The second reason is that the game is designed to be played solo. The developers themselves have said that the dungeons will adapt to the number of players and that it will be possible to progress through the story without having to form a group. So, what's the point of forcing us to be online when we can play solo? Wouldn't it make more sense to allow us to play offline and synchronise our data when we connect?

The third reason is the most important of all: preserving the game. We all know that online games have a limited lifespan and depend on server maintenance. What happens if Inflexion Games closes down or decides to stop supporting the game? Will we lose everything we have invested in it? Will we never be able to play it again? I want to be sure that I will be able to enjoy the game for years to come, even on my own, without having to worry about whether the servers are still running or not.

Because of all this, I think it is necessary to start a movement to ask Inflexion Games to include an offline mode in their game. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, and that's why I'm asking you to support me in this cause. If there are enough of us asking for it, maybe the developers will listen to us. Please spread this message via social networking sites.

I don't want to end this post without saying that I'm very excited about the game and I'm looking forward to it. I'm not a hater or a troll, just a fan who wants the best for the game and the community. I hope you don't mind my opinion and respect it as I respect yours. Thanks for reading and see you soon.

Spanish:

Hola, amigos.

Hey folks. A lot of passion for this subject which is understandable. We've said in the past that this is something that we'll consider once we're past our Early Access launch. Our always-online approach was engineered around multi-Realm exploration (Aaryn mentions it a little bit in this interview: {BAĞLANTI SİLİNDİ}. Once we're past launch (where a lot of player data will be invaluable to us when it comes to improving and expanding the experience) private player servers and offline mode will be something we'll consider.
So there's still a chance there won't be an offline mode then?
I guess I'll keep waiting... When it's confirmed I might get the game.

Well, that's a glass-half-empty viewpoint :D

We'll confirm any offline mode more formally if/when it happens in the future (i.e. in a Dev Update most likely).

Inflexion is owned by Tencent.

That one piece of information, which I just verified, has singlehandedly made me remove the game from my wishlist. I thank you for pointing that out.

I looked for their game "fantasy survival" and count not find it, do you mean Nightingale???? then type it, my god, why do a stupid wall of text and not name the game??? just dumb.

If you don't like the thread and what you're posting is disrespectful. Please leave the thread. This is for users who are interested in the topic to contribute information or their ideas to give our feedback to the developer.

as objective data. If you go to the Nightingale forum and the subject of the game doesn't seem like fantasy to you .... See a mental health professional. For your sake and everyone else's
And many thanks to all of you who are participating in this thread by contributing your opinions, always in a respectful way. Let's not forget that the game will be released in 7 days and I hope that soon, and being one of the most active threads of the game, some CM or developer will give us some good news.

For those who are new to the thread and only read the last message. What we all want here is an offline mode and that requires that we have the ability to have private servers. No one is against having online or official servers. But we are against the imposition of them. Thanks again to all of you.
oof, I didn't even realize this was going to be online only. I have Starlink internet. While it's fast most of the time, it regularly has hiccups.

I've been looking forward to this game for quite a while. But I have to make sure online only isn't the case.

They really are not off to a good start. I'm not looking for a fortnite game with cosmetics shoved in my face to keep their servers going. Why don't companies create realms like Minecraft did so we can just pay a monthly fee for our own private servers? I pay every month for Minecraft and also did so with virtual private servers. I pay for gamepass each month...it's a subscription type of transaction that comes out each month for a service I want.

However, I never have and never will choose to buy a battlepass type of subscription. Not at all interested.

Just another company taking advantage of a select number of players who will spend way more money than they should on a game providing cosmetic items. :(

...? Have they at all said they were doing battlepasses or selling comestics? If so could you please provide some links so I can inform myself on it?

No, I don't think they have said how they will fund the game servers, nor have they said they will have dedicated servers outside of their EA servers.

Many games offer dedicated server options:

Minecraft, Palworld, Enshrouded, Valheim, 7 Days to Die, Ark, Astroneer, Core Keeper, Counter Strike, etc.

The benefits are better performance, control over the server (restart if needed, run updates, stay on older updates, change settings, restrict access, etc.), and 24/7 access for friends and family or whoever you allow on the server.

Minecraft has offered something similar to the Nightingale method of multiple "realms". Mods allow connecting multiple servers together. Some, or most, of the major Minecraft servers do this. We used to do this to allow various settings for different worlds, resets for mining specific worlds, etc.

I really like the idea and hope it works well. I also like the idea of it being hosted...if it is something I can choose to pay for to avoid micro-transactions.

They will have to pay for the servers somehow, and it won't be through the $29 purchase price.

Cosmetic stores are not something I find appealing. I'd rather just pay money toward a realm, like how Minecraft offers realms (although Minecraft realms are underpowered and too cheap...and they don't have an option to upgrade!).

Maybe they will offer the dedicated server at some point so players can build their own network of Nightingale realms. Also, no reason they couldn't have official and non-official servers allow players to move between.

Here is some of the FAQ from the Discord:

"...**Q. Is Nightingale singleplayer or multiplayer?**
A. You can play Nightingale solo or with friends with up to 6 people in a party.
...
**Q. How much will Nightingale cost?**
A. Nightingale will launch at $29.99 USD.

**Q. Will there be microtransations?**
A. We won’t lock progression or gameplay behind paywalls/microtransactions. There may be cosmetic purchases but we’re still figuring that out and will have more details closer to the Early Access launch.

**Q. Will there be dedicated servers?**
A. We will have Official Dedicated servers as part of the game, but we will not have private server support for the initial Early Access launch. We talk more about it here: <https://youtu.be/piDLsKXvcKg?t=172>..."
the asking price and what i saw in the stress test make it a purchase for me. i am concerned about being always online, the game doesn't appear to need that. realms are smallish, enemies aren't that numerous. it seems easy enough for most machines to run a realm. i could understand if enemy AI was using an elaborate AI server system. in the form i've seen the only reason to be always online is for games as service functionality.

i'm still buying into early access, the price is cheap enough that return on investment wont be a high bar to clear. if the servers get shutdown and the game becomes non-functional 30HRs of gameplay will feel like i've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ my moneys worth. i should be able to get that from it with what i've seen
Once we're past launch (where a lot of player data will be invaluable to us when it comes to improving and expanding the experience) private player servers and offline mode will be something we'll consider.

too meny times have we all been burned by always online requirement either being in location where the game is just unplayable do to latency or the servers go down with the the first few months of a game being out and never able to play the game again i can understand to a degree why youed go that rout to reduces piracy but at the same time seams like a huge gamble to players especially with an early access title also from an out side looking in just seams like unnecessary allocation of funds to servers rather then development your going to have a huge uphill battle it looks like a grate title but i like meany other will be holding off though just prepare your self for mass down votes just look at games like payday 3 people are tired of losing access to there games its as simple as that
Got to agree here no offline no purchase. Consider adding offline mode for single play after you have our money in today's gaming industry is of no use to customers who are already getting fed up with devs and publishers who do not honour their promises or who release outright buggy crap. (Not saying the devs of this game are in that list), but asking people to trust a company they do not know is akin to the snake oil salesman in my opinion. Prove yourself first then i will take your word, and then u may get my cash. But by then i will probably be playing other games that have single offline mode from the get go.
Was looking forward to this and was going to buy on release. Without a commitment from the developer that offline mode will definitely be forthcoming I will not be purchasing right now.

Thank you for responding, Three customers in my household will hold off on purchasing till offline option is added.
Ya I saw Glock9 video and couldn’t believe no offline mod on a survival game. Will not purchase till hopefully offline mod is added.
I took this one off the list for now, I hope they commit to adding that function. It's too bad, I had really been looking forward to it for some time, but lacking a local server function is a red flag to me.
