Abysmal at 1440p, didn't bother trying 4k.
Nightingale needs optimization.
Totally unexpected.
Not sure if this is sarcasm or not...but yeah, it doesn't run well even for some with newer graphics cards. Meanwhile, other games like Palworld are doing fine. No excuse in my opinion nowadays to make games that run awful and expect money for them.
It just means people will move onto other games if they can't play it.
I knew my system might struggle...which is why I'm glad I could test it out. Was surprised to see reports of users with new graphics cards crashing as well.
The issue is going to be with UE5 more than the game itself. UE5 has a long way to go before it reaches general optimization.
Plus, 144 doesn't feel like hard locked 60hz like it does on enshrouded. 🤷
Same, no issues at even 4k. Monitor is only 60Hz so I can't speak to top end FPS, but it ran great.
Many UE5 games will struggle with current hardware. Even Remnant 2 was running with only 35FPS in 4k with my 4090!!! DLSS and Frame Gen helped to hit 100FPS.
That is the cost for nanite.
Just no...
if the engine runs on no existing hardware well its designed poorly there is no "next gen"... hardware is improved linearly consoles too now. PS4-4pro-5-5pro are derivatives of x86 .They are just the same code with newer hardware and now identical hardware to PC.
Same goes for xbox one and newer. When consoles used to be unique in hardware and language there was indeed CONSOLE generations.
There has not been pc generations since X86 launched in the early 80's just one constant stream of improvement
However implementing nanite/lumen/etc as the only options in a game is reckless on the developers part. this developer at least had the sense to compensate by adding scaling tech for all current gpu manufacturers.
Satisfactory can toggle nanite and lumen on or off. and that game manages to run as smooth on UE5 as it did UE4. and if you want fancy lighting and clouds you have to choice to ruin your own frame rate.
this is the way it should be done. as by the time this game falls out of popularity there will still be 75% of players on amd 5/6/7XXX and NVIDIA 2/3/4XXX
IT IS 100% the DEVELOPERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THEIR GAME RUNS ON THE MAJORITY OF HARDWARE CURRENTLY BEING USED (not available) OR THEY WILL HAVE BAD REVIEWS AND UNHAPPY CLIENTS.
if that means they need to knock the game down a level on visuals that is what should be done to ensure they have as many people able to enjoy their game as possible.
IT is UNREAL/EPIC's responsibility to ensure their engine runs on current hardware. in this they have failed and it was the developers choice to not include alternative lighting modes etc.
Spitting out someone else's regurgitated lines "ITS NEXT GEN" is utter BS!!!
10 years after this game dies some people will still be running on the hardware the high end pc's have now.
Only problem for me was the game was crashing to desktop with unreal engine errors.
