OH good another UE5 game that runs like CRAP. At least this one seems like it will be fun.
Game runs like CRAP. as does 95% UE5 based games.
game looks like it will be fun but performance will be a issue without severe optimisation.

even if they have to sacrifice visual fidelity a game has to run well. looking good is important but secondary to running well.

To be fair to this game it at least runs better than Enshrouded and ARKSA. and has AMD NVIDIA and Intel Scaling tech implemented from the get go.

so you can ruin your own visual fidelity to get FPS up at least

But the art style seems to be consistent and nice that at least speaks to the developers ability. definitely picking it up on launch.

i seem to be collecting every Runs like crap UE5 survival game anyway why not this one as well.

lets all hope nanite lumen and other systems in UE5 get some optimisation soon.

64gb ram, rtx 4090, 7950x3d.
Abysmal at 1440p, didn't bother trying 4k.

another 4090 chad with poor performance, 2080ti ran it like a dream at 1440p.

I'm down near the minimum requirements. It crashed running out of video ram the first time, so I had to go back and go into settings to turn it down to performance. Gameplay just isn't smooth (mouse movement delay and poor graphics). It's really too bad because other games run fine still on this PC. I guess I'll have to settle for Palworld.

Nightingale needs optimization.

It's a incredible that a game that will launch in early access in 3 weeks needs optimization.
Totally unexpected.

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not...but yeah, it doesn't run well even for some with newer graphics cards. Meanwhile, other games like Palworld are doing fine. No excuse in my opinion nowadays to make games that run awful and expect money for them.

It just means people will move onto other games if they can't play it.

I knew my system might struggle...which is why I'm glad I could test it out. Was surprised to see reports of users with new graphics cards crashing as well.

32gb RAM, rtx 3070, quality settings, 1440p... 30-40fps.

The issue is going to be with UE5 more than the game itself. UE5 has a long way to go before it reaches general optimization.

weird. just got a 4090 recently and the game runs like a dream at 1440p. Max settings on everything and my performance was great. Didn't get to play for more than an hour but during that time never ran into any visual or performance issues.

3440x1440 runs really well on a 13700k/4080. Turning down some things, and relying on frame gen let's me hit that 144. Better than ASA, at least. With UE5 being so early, I think this will be the standard for quite a while, unfortunately.

Plus, 144 doesn't feel like hard locked 60hz like it does on enshrouded. 🤷

Same, no issues at even 4k. Monitor is only 60Hz so I can't speak to top end FPS, but it ran great.

5800X3D + 4070Ti, struggling to get more than 60/70fps at 1440p UW with DLSS Balanced

UE5 is a next gen engine, don't expect it to run on current gen hardware with maxed settings in 8k and 500FPS...

Many UE5 games will struggle with current hardware. Even Remnant 2 was running with only 35FPS in 4k with my 4090!!! DLSS and Frame Gen helped to hit 100FPS.

That is the cost for nanite.

3080Ti, ran without a single hiccup. 1440p, everything maxed.

Just no...

if the engine runs on no existing hardware well its designed poorly there is no "next gen"... hardware is improved linearly consoles too now. PS4-4pro-5-5pro are derivatives of x86 .They are just the same code with newer hardware and now identical hardware to PC.

Same goes for xbox one and newer. When consoles used to be unique in hardware and language there was indeed CONSOLE generations.

There has not been pc generations since X86 launched in the early 80's just one constant stream of improvement

However implementing nanite/lumen/etc as the only options in a game is reckless on the developers part. this developer at least had the sense to compensate by adding scaling tech for all current gpu manufacturers.

Satisfactory can toggle nanite and lumen on or off. and that game manages to run as smooth on UE5 as it did UE4. and if you want fancy lighting and clouds you have to choice to ruin your own frame rate.

this is the way it should be done. as by the time this game falls out of popularity there will still be 75% of players on amd 5/6/7XXX and NVIDIA 2/3/4XXX

IT IS 100% the DEVELOPERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THEIR GAME RUNS ON THE MAJORITY OF HARDWARE CURRENTLY BEING USED (not available) OR THEY WILL HAVE BAD REVIEWS AND UNHAPPY CLIENTS.

if that means they need to knock the game down a level on visuals that is what should be done to ensure they have as many people able to enjoy their game as possible.

IT is UNREAL/EPIC's responsibility to ensure their engine runs on current hardware. in this they have failed and it was the developers choice to not include alternative lighting modes etc.

Spitting out someone else's regurgitated lines "ITS NEXT GEN" is utter BS!!!
10 years after this game dies some people will still be running on the hardware the high end pc's have now.

Game ran above 100fps at ultrawide screen on my RTX 4080 super. Much better performance than Enshrouded.

Only problem for me was the game was crashing to desktop with unreal engine errors.

I also played Remnant 2 and for a UE5 game I felt the graphics were bad and grainy at even 4K and max details on a 4090 and 32" 4K miniLED 144Hz monitor. Apparently not all UE5 games look good, it all depends on how much work was put into the design/art direction. For example, the Immortals of Aveum UE5 game actually looks pretty good, in particular the cut scenes and up close shots. Too bad it was a terrible game.
