It is a new version of valheim though ??? Just a more fantasy setting with more depth ?? Only big difference is random map (valheim) generator vs Enshrouded's pre-set map and keep in mind Enshrouded's map size is only 37% of what it'll be in full release , map's already huge...
It's virtually zero like Valheim. It's a RPG, it's quests, it's static map, it's terrible terra forming, it's getting NPC's as workers. They're virtually nothing alike.
Are you serious? Literally every review of Enshrouded says it's barely a survival game and more of an open world RPG. Valheim is acually a full survival game.
Not trying to be rude but you don't know what you're talking about so please just withdraw from the conversation.
That's unfortunate to hear. What did your friend say about it? I'm looking forward to this game but imo survival games are a cursed genre and I really wonder at the minds that find Rust and Ark enjoyable, but it's also not like I care all that much given the large number of great games releasing this year.
However, it would be nice if we finally had a high quality survival game with modernization that isn't jank or poorly handled like Rust and Ark are.
Valheims weather system was very atmospheric, also personally the enemies where better designed, like the giant trolls were goofy looking but where still very threatening at the start. Also only done 3 enshrouded bosses and they were fine but again valheim done it way better, the actually summoning of bosses was more tedious but were more interesting fights.
Just running about in valheim, with the fog and having Odin watch you from a distance were great vibes that enshrouded just isnt hitting for me so far. still looking forward to next play session though
These are factors that this game looks focused on, but we'll never really know until its released to public
Let's see you build, craft, hunger elements, chop wood / mine, and it's a sandbox. Nah you don't know what you're talking about sounds like a hard coping . You don't even own the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
And your second point about "literately every review" is made up and complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ . Enshrouded has an 84% review that keeps going up and the negative reviews are just people complaining about it being tedious (the survival / crafting elements) or performance issues or the multiplayer (questlines not being unique per player). So withdraw yourself from this conversation
Also this is the nightingale forums some people are just upset that Enshrouded is more linear then valheim. If they dont like it valheim is available to play. The fact Enshrouded has RPG elements mixed in with the whole survival / crafting genre makes it even more fun.
With Enshrouded you're only getting 37% of the map they want to show you before full release so theres plenty left still to add.
I love how you just got angry instead of actually bothered to read my post. Never said the game was bad or seen negatively, only that it really isn't a survival game, most people agree on that, and that's what the person you replied to was disappointed about.
It's not made up, and it's crazy easy to figure that out.
Here, timestamped for you, just one example (@4:30 just in case it doesn't save the timer):

Feel free to watch the whole review. He expands on the survival elements of the game (or really the lack of them) later. This is a sentiment echoed by a lot of reviews.
No one is saying it's a bad thing, but if you came into Enshrouded specifically looking for something that is primarily a survival game, then this is not. It really shouldn't have called itself one.
It's an open world RPG that has more in line with Elden Ring and BoTW than Valheim, and what little survival stuff is there is very fluffy and water-thin; hence the response you originally replied to:
He's 1000000000000% correct.

Game's a survival game. Even your little snippet guy says yeah it's just not enough survival for me but it has it . Let's take your tears and put it in a cup.
I'm not trying to argue with you here. You're once again getting knee-jerk defensive. The only reason I linked a review was because you said I made up the fact that no one thinks it's survival elements are lacking, which is clearly not the case.
I didn't watch your random video because it's irrelevant to my point.
You're still not getting the point and obviously don't care about being rational and listening since you're just arbitrarily insulting me now lmao. I don't know who peed in your coffee, but take a step back, take a breath, and stop being so cringey and childish.
You're gritting your teeth over imagined slights for a game you have nothing to do with.
Even if we're being generous and call it a survival game, it's probably one of the worst survival games in recent memories as the survival elements are basic as heck and virtually nonexistent and don't even remotely compete with Valheim.
You have two people literally telling you that, so obvious some of us strongly disagree with your assessment.
You are free to believe whatever you want, but just don't be shocked when some people coming into the game for a traditional survival game scratch their head and then leave lol.
Enshrouded is a survival game.
Enshrouded is like Skyrim mixed with Diablo, with a slight bit of survival/base building mixed in. It's more about your time spent building and exploring the map. It's not your usual survival game like Valheim, Subnautica, or Raft, where it's all about the survival!
You seem like one of those players that only played the game for 1 hour or didn't even play it at all.
On a different topic! I'm always keen for a new Survival so I'm looking forward to Nightingale also, I have been for a while now.
So every game that you chop wood and mine is "the next Valheim" eh? Sandbox....lol, ok. You're a fanboi, so you're going to defend it no matter what. Game is pretty good, but it's a RPG story/quest game.....it's as much like Valheim as Palworld. Just because youtubers or other reviewers parrot what the Devs (probably more like their marketing people) fed them (so they could cash in on Valheim fans) doesn't make it true. Baaaaaah Mr. Sheep, you got some more grazing to do.
