Looking at the screenshots clearly show a very limited viewing angle and in games you don’t have the peripheral view you have in real life where you can register movements up to almost 180 degrees.
In Conan Exiles I spend at least 95 % of my gaming time in 3rd. person view. I cannot bear to play this type of games solely in 1st. person view for very long.
Actually the only game I know I can play in 1st. person view is Elite Dangerous Horizon and that is from the cockpit of a spaceship with a 360 degree radar, not running around in an open world with the risk of being attacked from all sides.
If they keep this design choice, I’ll probably wait and see how it turns out to be after it has been released.
Minecraft mechanics do certainly favor first person when it comes to it's namesake of mining, but it does still have the option to toggle between the two, so you can still run around and enjoy third person with your custom skin just fine, then toggle back to first person for mining
This is pretty much an insta buy for me if the release goes well.
It's good to hear you found a way to circumvent your motion sickness and that it was in your head. I hope you'll love Nightingale and that we won't have to wait long for it.
Am I interpreting you correctly that you're saying that anyone can train themselves out of motion sickness? If so I have to step in and say that unfortunately that's not the case - There's even people who've never had motion sickness in games who started experiencing this in their 30s-40s.
(This thread has a very interesting discussion about it, imho:

Personally it's an FoV issue for me in first-person games, I usually increase FoV and turn off head bobbing/motion blur. Still I prefer third-person for the immersion. ^^
all the people in here insisting that 3rd person not be included, I have to ask, if you only want this game to be first person, how would you feel, if the devs said it would only be 3rd person? you'd likely have the same reaction others are having. Don't lie, you would.
Perhaps we are asking for a change, you can see it that way if you want, but in truth we are asking for them to stay consistent with nearly all other games in the genre they are making.
To be able to freely switch between 1st and 3rd view points is a staple of survival games. If you can't understand that, then maybe you aren't a fan of survival games, and this game and others like it aren't for you.
If you insist on only having 1st person view in your game, go play first person shooters like rainbow six and other mindless caveman drivel.
"The Majority intrested in this game want first person i believe."
Then you are a fool, the majority of the people who want this game, want a survival game, and most likely have no idea that the devs decided to remove a key survival game feature.
In this genre, the ability to switch camera view from first to 3rd is as much a staple of the game as making your first tools from wood and stone. The mass majority of survival games have the view switch option and all for the better of the community as it doesn't hurt anyone to have the option.
That is a dirty lie.
