How to change resolution?
No matter what I set the resolution to in the settings menu it won't change from outputting 1080p. I tried 720p - 4k in the in-game settings, both using windowed and fullscreen and nothing changes it

Is there any other way to access that exe?

Not that I heard of. I know that you need to gain access to the folder, at first I searched how to do it and had no problem, in fact, it's just the permission to modify the .exe properties, there's no need to do anything else that could break the games.

Yeah unfortunately in my case the act of just giving myself the ability to see files in that folder broke all Windows Store/Gamepass games for me. It's happened to a lot of other people as well.

It's just an awful system they use- a legacy closed garden backend from when they were trying to make AppX a thing. It is extremely volatile and poking at it from any angle can potentially cause the entire thing to break

I don't know what you could do then, sorry to hear that.

I found another solution-

You need to set "Make Everything Bigger" to 100% in the windows display control panel.

This will not let you switch resolutions in-game, but it will make the game display at whatever your desktop is set to.

I had mine at 125% and it would only display at 1080p even though my desktop was at 1440p

Great look on a Microsoft first party game running on the OS they created with such an amateur hour bug that 99% of other games don't have.

Lol wut. So many games these days release without DPI awareness. This is a super common issue.

This worked, didn't want to mess with permissions on the windowsapps folder, so glad to see this worked.

I will say for anyone who may be still having the issue on the gamepass or steam version. If you DO NOT have a registered copy of windows, make sure in the compatability settings you select under "Change High DPI Settings" under "Program DPI" in the drop down menu choose "when I open this program" because it won't work without that option selected unless you have official copy of windows.

It doesn't work even with a legal copy of Windows.
